At the meeting with the top management of AZAL, the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Republic of Azerbaijan recalled that both sides already discussed the idea of establishing direct flights between the two countries at their first encounter back in 2016. Ambassador Stalder congratulated President Askerov for such a decision and positive news for our two countries which enjoy excellent and friendly relations with a steady trend towards more business and people-to-people contacts. He also expressed the Embassy’s readiness to contribute to AZAL’s efforts to promote the new flight destination to Geneva through its own channels and offered a meeting between officials from Switzerland’s tourism promotion agency ‘Tourism Switzerland’ (www.myswitzerland.com) and officials from Azerbaijan.

According to information provided by AZAL, the flights will be carried out twice a week on Tuesday and Friday, with Airbus 319, with 60 seats. The flight will have three classes: VVIP, Business and Economy. Flight duration will be four hours.
