Youth Employment Project (YEP) presented Local Initiatives Program, implemented in 2014 and 2015. Through this program, YEP developed and piloted several models of engagement of civil society organizations in youth employment. Furthermore, YEP presented current activities – progress achieved in development of the policy framework in the field of social entrepreneurship. In cooperation with the Employment Institute of the Federation of BiH, YEP is actively developing Social Entrepreneurship Platform which is a base document for practical support for creating enabling environment for establishment of social enterprises.

Swisscontact presented the “Entrepreneurship Program” supported by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The project which will be officially launched in March this year, actively works on establishment and strengthening of an entrepreneurial eco-system: long-term model of support for local start-ups (accelerators, incubators, Venture capital funds). Presented concept of this project raised significant attention and willingness for cooperation.

Concrete examples of good practices were presented by MarketMakers project representatives: characteristic proofs-of-concept that even in unfavourable market conditions, carefully structured and precisely targeted support can transform entrepreneurial ideas into successful businesses.

After the presentations, lively discussion ensued with representatives of governmental, public, private and civil society sectors sharing opinions and experiences in activation and employment of youth. The event and presented projects provoked significant attention of media and attending governmental and public institutions.
