Swiss-Canadian photographer Thomas Guignard has a unique passion: Libraries.
The Goethe-Institut Toronto has invited Thomas Guignard to take over the Goethe Media Space for fall 2020 to investigate questions about reading hubs and architectural spaces, and where and how people read. Breaking through the art wall and expanding the library at the Goethe-Institut Toronto into Berlin's Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm Centre (above photo), Guignard plays with access and scale, form and function, perspectives and vanishing points.
In the newest episode of the podcast “From the Alps to the Rockies”, Guignard talks about his visits to over 300 libraries and their unique aesthetics. The episode is available in English and French.
