Press releases, 25.06.2015

On 25 June, the Swiss Cooperation Office for the South Caucasus presented to the honorable guests including the representatives of international community and diplomatic corps  its new book “Faces and Stories of Entrepreneurs of the South Caucasus”.

Regional Director presents the Book.

The presentation was opened by the Regional Director of Cooperation, Rudolf Schoch. In his words, the book reflected 4 years of fruitful cooperation between the Swiss and Georgian governments.

“This is an important part of the Swiss Cooperation in the South Caucasus. Economic development is one of the most crucial prerequisites for an overall development of the country. Very often we talk about politics and strategy, but, eventually, the most important is what each and every entrepreneur is doing and everything that is important for economic development is encompassed in this book.
The book mirrors the faces and stories of the people, who initiated, developed, expanded and are still running their start-ups. This is a great book with lots of exciting stories and wonderful photos,” said Rudolf Schoch.

The book on entrepreneurship in the South Caucasus was made possible by the hard work of Matthias Feldmann, Deputy Regional Director of Cooperation, Mila Tishayeva, producer and photographer and invaluable contribution of writers from across the region and the heroes of the stories.

“When I am holding this book, I feel like a father of a newborn child. We started working on this book a year and half ago, when I received an e-mail from my friend telling me the story of a person who had launched his own car business and eventually grew into a successful entrepreneur. This story inspired me to start this new book. It opens new opportunities to develop economy from different angle,” stated Matthias Feldmann.

The evening was dedicated not only to present the book, but also to saying farewell to Rudolf Schoch and Matthias Feldmann. They completed their missions in the region and are now going to embark on different adventures.
