“ab3ad”

Rooted in classical Arab music, the three musicians Wael Elkholy, Emre Aydin and Titus Bellwald elegantly interweave music towards jazz, pop, contemporary classical music.  ab3ad creates an intense and deeply spiritual music.

In November 2013 Wael Elkholy, a singer brought up in classical Arab music, teamed up with classical occidental percussionist Titus Bellwald.  Wael studied contemporary classical music and theater musical, Titus studied percussion and is playing various oriental traditions.  While they developed different pieces of music just the two of them, they quickly realized they needed a bass to bring the full potential of their work, so they teamed up with Emre Aydin, a bass musician with Turkish origins. “ab3ad“is the Arabic word for “dimensions” (pronounced ab’aad).
