Project Preparation Facility (PPF)
The Swiss Contribution to enlargement aims to finance a broad variety of projects. The PPF provided the necessary financial assistance to enable Executing Agencies to submit high qualityproject proposals. This was especially important in the case of complex projects.

Poorer regions do not have the financial means to prepare a good Final Project Proposal. Likewise, complex projects demand a costly preparation.
The goal of the PPF was to ensure the efficient preparation of good quality Final Project Proposals.
Executing Agencies / Intermediate bodies
The PPF could be used for mandates of competent external experts for preparing studies, e.g. feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and/or translations into English.
The Project Preparation has significantly contributed to the thorough preparation of Swiss funded projects. It allowed the Executing Agencies and Intermediate Bodies to elaborate high-quality project documentation. Therefore, the Project Preparation Facility played a major role in enabling Switzerland to approve all the projects and to fully commit all the available funds by June 2012.
