Swiss Team at the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei

After plenty of memorable moments, the highly acclaimed Summer Universiade Taipei 2017 which lasted for 12 days (19th - 30th August), officially ended with a Closing Ceremony filled with celebration.

The 142 members of the Swiss Delegation, composed of 94 athletes and 48 staff which was an important Swiss presence at the Games, were delighted to be in Taipei and to have been part of such an international event. The Swiss Team competed in 14 different sports and proudly won 1 gold medal in Women’s 4x100m Relay by Ajla Del Ponte, Salomé Kora, Cornelia Halbheer and Selina von Jackowski,  1 silver medal in Women’s 200m Butterfly by Martina van Berkel and 1 bronze medal in Women’s 100m by Salomé Kora. The whole team left Taiwan with wonderful memories.

A very special Swiss Evening was also organized by the Trade Office of Swiss Industries together with the Swiss University Sport Federation (FSSU) for the Swiss Delegation and special guests on the 24th August. All guests were treated with an outstanding buffet accompanied with Swiss wine and a cultural performance.
