The long-awaited "Swiss Music Night", under the artistic direction of Swiss composer Fabian Müller and cellist Pi-Chin Chien, is finally returning to Taiwan. The Swiss Music Night is a unique platform to bring outstanding musicians from Switzerland in collaboration with Taiwanese orchestras and musicians.

The concert entitled “Sounding Confluence” will feature the renowned Quatuor Sine Nomine based in Lausanne, making their debut in Taiwan. After its earliest successes in 1985 at the Evian Competition and in 1987 at the Borciani Competition in Reggio Emilia, Quatuor Sine Nomine has been pursuing an international career and appears in concert in many European and American cities. The ensemble has a history of 40 years of two founding members, violinist Patrick Genetand and cellist Marc Jaermann working together along with violinist François Gottraux and violist Hans Egidi joining the quartet in 1982 and 2002 respectively.  The string quartet, like its name “without a name”, is dedicated to “servicing” composers of all styles and their works.

Quatuor Sine Nomine will play works by Maurice Ravel, Giuseppe Verdi and Swiss composer Martin Wettstein. Taiwanese pianist, Chun-Chieh Yen will perform Johannes Brahms’s Piano Quintet in F minor with the string quartet.
