To promote the importance and the role of family doctors, RCCFM set up information stands outside. Visitors and medical students could get to know topics related to Family Medicine and look at the equipment used by family doctors. There was a short presentation on the work of family doctors, which was of particular interest to medical students. The Swiss Cooperation office in Tajikistan through the Medical Education Reform Project implemented by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute supported the event by providing the information stands, brochures and leaflets, audio and visual films about Family Medicine.

Top level representatives of the MoHSP, RCCFM, Medical College of Dushanbe, the Association of Family Medicine, the Republican Healthy Life Style Center, the European Union and other institutions were amongst the participants of the event.

World Family Doctor Day was first declared by World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) in 2010 and has become a day to highlight the role and contribution of family doctors in health care systems around the world. The event has gained momentum globally each year and is a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the central role of this specialty in delivering personal, comprehensive and continuing health care for all of our patients. It is also a chance to celebrate the progress being made in family medicine and the special contributions by family doctors all around the world.
