The Embassy is proud to continue the partnership with the non-profit organization Aidha. Aidha helps migrant domestic workers and low-income women to achieve economic independence through financial education. Along with our partners for this project, Schellenberg Wittmer, Zurich Insurance and Swiss Re, the Embassy will be sponsoring two short courses on “Understanding Debt” and “Introduction to Financial Education”. The short-courses are free and open to all migrant domestic workers. 

 

Intro to Financial Education

Free In-person Aidha workshop for all MDWs in Singapore. A fun, interactive workshop which will help understand the life-changing benefits of making better-informed financial decisions! 

Contents of the course: 

  • Get inspired to start thinking about your future
  • Re-examine every-day financial decisions through an interactive game

Understanding Debt

Free In-person Aidha workshop for all MDWs in Singapore. Debt - What is it and how to avoid it? Learn how to understand the true cost of debt, how to manage it and how to avoid unnecessary debt

Contents of the course: 

  • Understand what to look for to know the true cost of debt
  • Better understand the good and bad reasons to take on debt
  • Learn how to manage debt
  • Understand the regulations around borrowing in Singapore and the importance of avoiding loan sharks
