The Sauti za Busara festival is one of Africa’s leading music events that takes place in Stone Town, Zanzibar every year in February. This unique festival promotes respect for diversity by bringing people together to celebrate live music from across the continent. This festival’s mission is to increase visibility and accessibility for African music, develop skills and opportunities for those in the music industry and strengthen regional and international networking and partnerships. As a result, the festival contributes to East Africa’s social, cultural and economic development.

The Embassy of Switzerland is one of the main sponsors of the music festival contributing over TZS 250 million (CHF 120`000) over the next three years. Switzerland has been promoting and supporting various aspects of the Tanzanian culture since 2005 through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
