On June 9-12, 2022 a group of Uzbekistan women farmers visited Navoi and Bukhara regions to take part in field workshops on introducing water saving technologies (WST).

The study visit was arranged by the SDC funded National Water Resources Management Project in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Water Resources to promote economic empowerment of women in water sector. The participants included  a group of women working in the water management system, and women farmers  who visited several farms in Navoi and Bukhara regions to learn the rational use of water resources and get acquainted with the results of the introduction of water saving technologies (WST) in the farms run by women only.

Kholmirzaeva Nasiba, head of the “Shodi Bobo Shukurjon” farm in Karmana district of Navoi region, shared her experience with women farmers from different regions of the country. She also introduced the guests to another type of activity, far from being a farmer, namely, a kindergarten for 120 children, built at the expense of the farm.

It was interesting to get acquainted with the technology installed for the use of groundwater in the fields of the farm "Urinoy Mirzaeva" in Vobkent district of Bukhara region. The visitors received information about the procedure for extracting groundwater through artesian wells in areas where livestock is developed, and the subsidies allocated by the state for such an activity.

Sincere meetings also took place in the farms of Dulama Pahlavon Makhmud, Bukhara district, and Dostonbek, Gijduvan district of Bukhara region.
