Transport Center in Legionowo

22.10.2009 - 31.03.2017

Legionowo is a fast growing city of more than 50'000 inhabitants, located some 20 km to the north of Poland’s capital Warsaw. Today, different public transport modes (national, regional, local buses, trains) do not exploit their full potential. One of the key reasons is the lack of a proper transportation hub with adequate passenger services. However, the potential of public transport is huge. The aim of the project is therefore to build an integrated rail and bus station (Transport Center Legionowo), fully equipped with an electronic passenger information system, and with Park & Ride Facility.

Promotion of renewable energy in Primorska

01.10.2009 - 31.08.2015

Switzerland has been supporting a project in Slovenia that promotes other sources of renewable energy: a noise barrier along a motorway has been equipped with solar panels and 29 public buildings that were previously heated with oil have been converted to biomass heating, 12 of which have also been made energy efficient.

The project aims at improving the awareness and know-how in the field of corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. Through pilot projects, support will be given to approximately 90 small and medium-sized enterprises taking concrete measures such as improving social labour standards, fighting corruption, protecting the environment and making greater use of renewable energy sources.
