Contesto

The idea of a study tour to Switzerland was born during the implementation of the project 7F-08337.02 “Promoting Freedom of Expression, Diversity and Inclusion in Morocco” and at the cultivation meetings and discussions held with the country’s media stakeholders. MDI assessed the need of media decision makers, prominent editors and journalists to be introduced to the Swiss model of media diversity and multiculturalism. Also, visiting the leading media and other institutions in Switzerland and talking with their representatives would bring a better understanding of the legislative processes and initiatives, as well as a better implementation of the principles of diverse content, multiculturalism and inclusion. Getting insights on the Swiss professional education system for journalists (in spe) – a matter of high interest for the Moroccan communication ministry – is another opportunity which would arise.

MDI aims at having 50% of women participants in the study tour.
