The Swiss embassy in Caracas (Venezuela) represents Switzerland's interests in Suriname.
In 2022, Switzerland imported goods worth just over CHF 1.2 billion from Suriname, mainly comprising precious stones and precious metals, and exported goods to the value of CHF 2.1 million – primarily chemical and related products.
Researchers who are citizens of Suriname can apply to the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) for Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships.
