Swiss Support to Arts Development in Zimbabwe (SSADZA)

Through the SSADZA initiative, Switzerland will support Zimbabwean artists to create new work, build networks, and engage audiences, enriching the arts landscape economically and socially. The programme will stimulate social change and enhance civil society by promoting the arts and culture as a catalyst for debate, social cohesion, peaceful co-existence and localisation. SSADZA will also participate in policy influencing with donors and government for increased financial support to the sector.


Tajikistan UNDRR - Strengthening Resilience to Disasters and Climate Change in Tajikistan (SRDCT)

01.09.2024 - 30.06.2026

Tajikistan is highly vulnerable to natural hazards and climate impacts, thus strengthening resilience needed as fundament for sustainable development. The intervention will contribute to (i) sustainable and effective mechanisms and instruments to improve risk governance through the national DRR platform,  (ii) improved risk knowledge through robust loss data collection and recording, and (iii) preparedness measures through support to multi-hazard Early Warning Systems and risk information.   


People In Need (PIN) Improving access to protection for vulnerable conflict-affected persons in Ukraine

The intervention seeks to improve and enhance the resilience and self-reliance of communities affected by the conflict in Mykolaivska, Dnipropetrovska, and Kharkivska oblasts. SDC partner People In Need will ensure continuing access to quality protection and social services, enhance awareness among service providers, foster inclusive work environments, and provide economic support. The second phase of this project will build on achievements and lessons learned from the previous PIN intervention under SDC funding.


Chad, IFRC Emergency Flood Response 2024

01.09.2024 - 30.06.2025

This contribution aims to support the IFRC and its members in contributing to meeting the urgent needs of people affected by the floods in Chad. Through the provision of integrated assistance such as shelter and food, health and care, including WASH services, and the strengthening of protection and prevention, the security and weII-being of communities affected by the disaster will be improved, the impacts of the emergency mitigated, and prevention of future disasters strengthened.


Socio-Economic Integration of Refugees in Armenia - SEIRA

01.09.2024 - 31.08.2027

Switzerland will continue supporting Armenia in integrating refugees from Nagorno Karabakh into society while improving social cohesion and economic prospects in remote rural areas of the country. By contributing to activities of the UN World Food Programme and of a local NGO, it will support 1’500 refugee- and vulnerable local households towards sustainable development facilitating the transition from humanitarian aid to long-term development.


Voluntary Contribution to the Santiago Network

01.09.2024 - 31.08.2028

The Santiago Network brings together developing countries' demand for technical assistance in the area of climate losses and damages with specialized providers of such assistance. In so doing, it supports these countries in preventing and minimizing such devastation and dealing with it once occurred. The network reports to the Conference of the Parties to the Paris Agreement. Its secretariat is hosted by UNDRR and UNOPS and located in Geneva, affording it significance from a host-state perspective.


Acquisition Scanner pour I'hôpital Panzi, ASP

Ce projet vise à doter l'Hôpital Général de Référence (HGR) de Panzi d'un scanner moderne, ce qui permet d'aider le personnel médical à poser des diagnostiques corrects et rapides, afin d'établir des protocoles de traitements adéquats chez les patients en général, et chez les femmes en particulier. En outre l'appui de la Suisse permet de soutenir la recherche en imagerie médicale à travers le partenariat avec les Hôpitaux Universitaires de Genève (HUG) et l'HGR de Panzi.


Microwork for Youth (Pilot)

The Microwork for Youth Pilot project aims at strengthening the economic resilience of Yemeni youth that are currently profiting from unconditional cash transfer under a broader WB/UNDP project. It focuses on increasing the employment rate of poor, low-skilled and vulnerable young individuals and provides them with in-demand digital skills training, as well as access to income-generating opportunities in the microwork sector locally and globally.

IFRC Emergency Flood Response

The Far North and West regions in Cameroon have been severely hit by recent floods, which have exacerbated existing vulnerabilities. The contribution to the IFRC emergency appeal will allow to save lives and alleviate suffering by providing integrated assistance to people affected by floods through multi-purpose cash assistance and improved access to   health and WASH services.


Enhanced Protection and Support to the Most Vulnerable Children, notably Refugee Children, in Lebanon

Children of all nationalities in Lebanon are affected by the country’s multifaceted crisis and collapse of public services. They face heightened risks of abuse, exploitation and violence, and of getting in contact or even in conflict with the law. Specific groups like refugee children are particularly at risk of seeing their rights violated. Through this project, NGOs and UNICEF will jointly enhance the protection of children from violence by providing them with crucial legal and protection services and by improving the child-friendliness of the justice system (nexus).


Public Service Improvement (PSI) in the Kyrgyz Republic

01.08.2024 - 31.07.2028

To improve people's quality of life, municipalities need to deliver efficiently and effectively services such as safe drinking water, waste collection, cultural facilities in a socially inclusive and gender responsive manner. In rural Kyrgyzstan, their capacities still need to be improved in a sustainable way. To achieve this, the project will develop the municipalities' support system which shall then provide adequate counseling and training to those municipalities today and in the long run.


Promoting efficient, affordable and clean cooling for everyone (PEACCE)

01.08.2024 - 31.07.2028

The Promoting Efficient, Affordable and Clean Cooling for Everyone (PEACCE) project contributes to mobilising global support and political will for scaling up sustainable cooling solutions in sub-Saharan Africa by supporting the Sustainable Cooling programme of the Sustainable Energy for All organisation. With its support, Switzerland aims to leverage its experience in passive cooling and nature-based cooling solutions both within sub-Saharan Africa and globally.
