UNICEF - Improving access to safe water and WASH sector coordination

This project aims to address the humanitarian crisis in Cuba, country strongly impacted by hurricane Melissa in Oct. 2025 and undergoing a severe energy crisis consecutive to the fuel embargo enforced end of Jan. 2026. In collaboration with the Cuban authorities, UNICEF will rehabilitate and repair public water systems in Eastern Cuba for at least 175’000 persons. It will furthermore lead and strengthen the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene sector coordination for greater effectiveness.


Mine action and victim assistance for populations affected by conflict and explosive ordnance in Yemen

As a component of SDC’s humanitarian mine action work in Yemen, this partnership with Humanity and Inclusion (HI) provides integrated and tailored physical rehabilitation services, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS), and mine action services to victims of explosive remnants of war (ERW) in Yemen. The intervention will improve physical and functional independence as well as psychosocial well-being of beneficiaries, reduce risks linked to explosive ordnance and strengthen local expertise in these thematic fields.


Collaborative Action for Local Lead-ership in Anticipatory & Coordinated Humanitarian Response (CoACT)

This project enhances Zimbabwe’s humanitarian preparedness by enabling earlier, locally led responses to emergencies. It establishes a humanitarian pooled funding mechanism accessible to local civil society organisations, provides capacity building, strengthens preparedness and anticipatory action, and enhances humanitarian coordination. It aligns with Swiss priorities by strengthening efficient, locally-led crisis response.


Contribution to the United Nations Horizon Fund’s early recovery support

Switzerland’s contribution to the Horizon Fund supports early recovery projects jointly implemented by UN-agencies in crises-affected regions of the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), with a focus on the Gaza Strip. Aligned with Palestinian national priorities and international frameworks, the Horizon Fund is both a financing mechanism and a strategic instrument, with the aim of translating international commitment into Palestinian-led recovery by principled, accountable actors.


Global Water Security and Sanitation Partnership (GWSP)

The Global Water Security and Sanitation Partnership (GWSP) is a global trust fund that informs World Bank investments to advance universal access to water and sanitation services, enhance climate resilience, and strengthen institutions for sustainable water management. SDC’s support advances innovative global knowledge production and exchange, and builds capacity through countrylevel support with a focus on populations excluded most from water investments and services.


EGY, UNHCR, 2026 Emerg.Resp. SUD Crisis

The project aims to enable vulnerable refugees and asylum-seekers in Egypt to meet their basic needs through the provision of multipurpose cash assistance (MPCA), thereby reducing protection risks, preventing harmful coping mechanisms, and supporting dignity, resilience, and well-being. The intervention by UNHCR aims to strengthen coordination and harmonization of cash assistance interventions to maximize coverage, efficiency, and complementarity among humanitarian actors.


SSD, PLAN International, NGO Forum Support, 26-29

The NGO Forum in South Sudan provides a platform on which NGOs, the UN, donors, and other stakeholders exchange information, share expertise and establish policies for efficient and effective use of resources. Switzerland supports the Forum with a multi-year contribution to amplify NGOs voices and to advocate for safe access, protection of aid workers, promote localization, coordinate aid and foster an enabling environment for development, peace and humanitarian operations.


Contribution to Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE)

An estimated 234 million crisis-affected children require education support, while funding for Education in Emergencies (EiE) remains critically insufficient. In this challenging context, the Inter-agency Network for Education in Emergencies (INEE) plays a key role in strengthening quality education responses through standards, knowledge sharing, advocacy and capacity development. Switzerland’s contribution will support INEE’s transition towards a more localized operating model, ensuring that actors closest to crises have greater influence in shaping EiE policy and practice.


Eritrea: UNICEF, Water Management

This co-financement to CERF Rapid Response implemented by UNICEF aims to strengthen climate-resilient access to safe and sustainable water supply for vulnerable communities in the Southern Red Sea Region of Eritrea, especially women and children. While CERF focuses on immediate life-saving interventions, SDCs contribution addresses critical gaps in sustainability and resilience by investing in longer-term water supply solutions.


Tchad-Soutien au programme-INSO

INSO renforce la capacité des acteurs humanitaires à opérer de manière sûre et informée dans un contexte sécuritaire volatile au Tchad. À travers des services d’analyse sécuritaire, d’alerte et de coordination, INSO appuie les ONG dans la gestion des risques et le maintien de l’accès humanitaire. L’intervention cible principalement l’Est du Tchad et le bassin du Lac Tchad, fortement affectés par les crises régionales et les déplacements forcés.


JOR: Supporting the Jordan-led international humanitarian bridge to Lebanon

07.06.2026 - 31.12.2026

Building on Jordan’s established role as a regional humanitarian hub, including for the delivery of aid to Gaza, the Government of Jordan, through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), has established a humanitarian bridge to Lebanon in response to the current humanitarian crisis. Through this intervention, Switzerland supports the delivery of essential relief assistance to conflict-affected populations while reinforcing coordinated regional humanitarian response mechanisms.


Citizen-Led Local Inclusive Planning & Services (CLIPS)

04.06.2026 - 31.08.2028

Switzerland supports Cambodia’s decentralization reform to improve inclusive and efficient public service delivery at the local level. The project promotes transparent and accountable management of public resources by strengthening local fiscal governance2 and bringing decision-making closer to citizens. It enhances citizen–authority dialogue and improves access to local budget information through digital and participatory tools, contributing to more responsive governance and better public spending.
