Switzerland and the EU updated the Agreement on dismantling technical barriers to trade (MRA). This update enables both sides to maintain the mutual market access in the sectors of medical devices, personal protective equipment, gas appliances and cable cars.

Switzerland and the EU initialled the Eurodac protocol, allowing the Swiss criminal prosecution authorities to access data from the Eurodac database, which has an automated system for the recognition of digital fingerprints of asylum seekers in the Dublin Area states.

Switzerland signed a declaration on eGovernment jointly drawn up by the EU and EFTA. The declaration contains five core principles for eGovernment and is intended to be a guide for further development.

The Federal Council sent a pragmatic solution for the implementation of the EU firearms directive to parliament for consultation. The suggested solution exploits the existing scope and takes into account the Swiss gunnery tradition.

Switzerland signed in Lisbon an agreement to deepen the cooperation with the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA). It provides Switzerland direct access to the European expert network.

The Federal Council adopted an amendment of the regulation on workers posted to Switzerland. The minimum number of controls regarding the respect of pay and working conditions (accompanying measures) will be increased.

The Agreement on Mutual Recognition in relation to Conformity Assessment (MRA) between Switzerland and the EU is updated, thereby maintaining market access in sectors in which the Swiss and EU technical standards have been revised.
