The focus is on vocational education and training, research and innovation, and access to finance for SMEs. These projects are also in Switzerland's interests, as the Swiss export industry benefits from the development of Eastern European growth markets and an increase in purchasing power in partner countries.

Vocational education and training

Thanks to its long-standing experience in dual vocational education and training, Switzerland is helping to reduce youth unemployment and ease the shortage of skilled labour.

Research and innovation

Support for young researchers helps to stem the brain drain.  Switzerland also benefits as a research location from research partnerships and academic exchange programmes.

Access to financing for SMEs

Switzerland provides small loans to strengthen market economies and improve the job market in partner countries.
