Schengen visa for a stay of up to 90 days

Important notice

The Embassy outsources the submission of short-stay visa applications (up to 90 days, Schengen visa C) and the return of passports in sealed envelopes to its external partner, VFS Global Algeria. The review of visa applications and the decision to grant or refuse a visa remain the competence of the Embassy.

Following a public tender, the mandate of VFS has been renewed for a new period starting on 1 July 2025. Some changes have been introduced, particularly regarding the service fees and the requirement to complete the visa application form online via the VFS website before booking an appointment.

The VFS service will continue without interruption and appointments made before 1 July remain valid.

The processing of applications by the Embassy still takes up to 15 days from the date of receipt. Appointments with VFS Global Algeria should be made well in advance (it is possible to schedule an appointment up to 6 months before the intended travel date).
