Projet de réponse d’urgence et de renforcement de la résilience des populations affectées par la crise alimentaire et pastorale de 2018 au Burkina Faso (PRACAP)

Au Burkina Faso, la baisse de 11% de la production agricole 2017/18 a entrainé environ 1 million de personnes dans une crise alimentaire. Cette situation est exacerbée par la crise pastorale et la dégradation du contexte sécuritaire, en particulier dans les régions du Sahel et du Centre Nord. Le Gouvernement a sollicité l’aide des partenaires pour une assistance aux personnes vulnérables et la Suisse y contribuera à travers la FAO et le PAM.

Border Assistance Colombia-Venezuela 2018

SDC will support IFRC and the Colombian Red Cross in reducing vulnerabilities of migrants along their routes between Venezuela and Colombia, in complementarity with the response of the Government of Colombia and the international community. The project –which is part of a regional strategy of IFRC– aims at providing humanitarian assistance to migrants along their migratory routes in terms of information, basic and primary health services, psychosocial support, family reunification and migration related issues. It will also contribute to strengthening the capacities of Red Cross National Society to respond to migrants’ needs and other kind of crisis in the future.

Afghanistan Urban Peacebuilding Programme (AUPP)

Afghanistan’s cities grow rapidly, accommodating high numbers of internally displaced and returnees. Crime, insecurity and social disintegration are an increasing problem in urban areas. The government is struggling to improve the situation affecting its legitimacy and public trust. The Afghanistan Urban Peacebuilding Programme supports municipalities and community-based structures to tackle insecurity through an inclusive approach. The ambition is twofold: improve urban security and governance for city dwellers.

Opérationnalisation de la filière semencière au Tchad

Au Tchad, le système de production agricole est rudimentaire et les rendements sont faibles. Le pays est régulièrement confronté à l’insécurité alimentaire. La semence est le principal intrant utilisé par les agriculteurs. C’est pourquoi, la DDC contribue à faciliter l’accès à des semences de qualité et adaptées à leur environnement. Ce programme permet aux exploitations familiales d’améliorer leur production et leur revenu et développe l’auto-emploi des femmes et des jeunes grâce à la multiplication de semences.

Vocational Skills Development Programme (VSDP)

Over 11’000 women and men will directly benefit from improved access to relevant and recognised skill development and employment opportunities in selected urban and rural areas, particularly in the South East of Myanmar, Yangon and Mandalay. The programme will further contribute to strengthening the overall vocational training system in Myanmar through strategic partnerships with the government of Myanmar and private sector partners from selected industries.

Contribution to the UNESCO International Institute on Educational Planning (IIEP)

Sound educational planning and management allows national governments to help translate the right to education and principles defined in the Sustainable Development Goal 4 into policies and actionable plans and budget. IIEP assists countries translate the principles of inclusive, equitable quality education into credible policies and plans. It provides Ministries of Education technical expertise and capacity support and engages in applied research and knowledge sharing.

Support to the Juvenile Justice Reform

01.05.2018 - 31.05.2022

Since 2010, the child justice system in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has undertaken a process of reform to which UNICEF, SDC and Sida have greatly contributed. Today the legal framework on juvenile justice is compliant with international standards, but the system for its implementation still needs to be strenghtened. This last project phase will focus on building the human capacity of justice and child protection professionals, and ensuring that adequate financial means are provided by the Government to implement this framework throughout the country. Awareness of children and their families about their rights and demanding access to justice will also be a priority.

Support to Israeli and Palestinian HR/IHL CSOs

Switzerland, through SDC, will support Palestinian and Israeli human rights and humanitarian law organizations active in the oPt as part of its engagement to contribute to a just and lasting peace and to the establishment of an independent, viable and democratic State of Palestine. The promotion of HR and IHL is a major concern in the oPt and a goal of Switzerland’s foreign policy.

Ma lmplic - Project on civic engagement in local governance

Moldovan local public administrations are often unable to respond to the needs of the population in an inclusive and sustainable way. Capacity to hold local authorities accountable is poor and citizens are reluctant to engage in public affairs. Switzerland will support Moldova to enhance participation in local development and decision-making, to further improve public service provision in rural areas and ensure a better framework for decentralisation. A strong focus will be put on the inclusion of excluded groups.

Clean Air China (CAC): Breaking Down the Dome: Sino-Swiss Cooperation on Air Pollution Source Apportionment for Better Air

The project will support the development of advanced air pollution source apportionment techniques with a Swiss and Chinese joint expert team to enable the design of more effective air pollution control policies beneficial for public health, the global climate and the environment. The techniques and experience of science-based policy making will be piloted in Chinese cities and shared with other developing countries strongly affected by air pollution to accelerate progress towards cleaner air.

Global Land Tool Network Partnership

Land rights are powerful resources for people to achieve sustainable livelihoods. Switzerland joins others in supporting the Global Land Tool Network (3rd Strategic Cycle) for its advocacy work and efforts to provide practical land tools available for authorities to ensure that all people, including women, youth and vulnerable groups, have access to land and tenure security. Switzerland brings in the experiences from other land related partnerships at national, regional and global levels.

UNICEF - RRM

La DDC par son appui financier au mécanisme de réponse rapide (RRM) dirigé par UNICEF participe à un financement rapide qui aide la communauté humanitaire à répondre aux activités d'urgencepermettant d'améliorer les conditions de vie des personnes vulnérables aiguës affectées par un choc humanitaire et la préservation de leur sécurité et dignité. Le RRM maintien une capacité de veille humanitaire, d'évaluation et de réponse rapide aux besoins urgents identifiés en biens non alimentaires et en eau et assainissement.
