Direct action Chad WASH Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

Chad hosts over 565’000 refugees from the recent crisis in Sudan, adding to the 595’000 refugees already residing in the country. Acces to safe drinking water is one of the biggest challenges for the Humanitarian actors. SDC provides material to Médécins sans frontiers. for analysing potential water sources and distributing the drinking water obtained. Two SHA experts will introduce the material during a short mission to Chad.


Sudan, Saferworld, Conflict Sensitivity Facility (CSF), Protection

The Conflict Sensitivity Facility (CSF) is a project implemented by Saferworld, that seeks to support the integration of conflict sensitivity into the strategies, policies, practices and programmes of aid actors in Sudan, and to ensure that interventions do not aggravate conflict but instead contribute to peace. CSF provides analysis, convenes discussions, shares learning and supports capacity development focused on priority areas for the aid sector.

Central African Republic (CAR), Norwegian Refugee Council, Committee of NGOs Coordination (CCO)

The protracted crisis continues to severely impact the lives and livelihoods of Central Africans, affecting over 50% of the population. The CCO strengthens humanitarian coordination and action through systematic and structured sharing of information, training, expertise, and advocacy. Switzerland’s contribution consolidates the humanitarian response, aligning with its commitments to Good Humanitarian Donorship and Localization.


Humanitarian Networks and Partnership Week 2024 – Swiss reception

The Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Week (HNPW) provides a unique forum for humanitarian networks and partnerships to meet and address key humanitarian issues. HNPW is co-hosted by OCHA and the SDC and a key event to strengthen International Geneva with focus on Humanitarians. It is held on a yearly basis for two weeks. The second week is face-to-face and held in Geneva and hence an important event for Geneva International and the Swiss reception an integral part.

République Centrafricaine (RCA) Oxfam - Projet d’Appui à la Maison des Services Centrafricaine (MdS-CA)

Ce projet vise à renforcer les organisations de la société civile en RCA, membres de la Maison des Services, pour les rendre autonomes, influentes et participatives. En RCA, où plus de la moitié de la population est touchée par les conflits, la contribution suisse va consolider la «Maison des Services» (MdS) au profit des acteurs locaux et de la réponse humanitaire globale, et ainsi soutenir nos engagements de Localisation.


Ukraine, Support to Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF)

The Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), managed by UN OCHA, is a strategic tool available to pool donor contributions into a single fund enabling humanitarian partners to deliver timely, coordinated and principled assistance. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the UHF has proven its capacity to provide critical life-saving responses, maximizing available resources and leveraging strategic operational improvements such as localization or women leadership.


SDG Partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland

The partnership provides a platform for exchange of experiences and know-how on sustainable development between stakeholders from the public, business and civil society sectors in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland. It focuses on learning from the Swiss good practices and adopting these in Bosnia and Herzegovina for governing the processes and mobilizing different actors for localisation of the Sustainable Development Goals. 


CALL - Climate Action at local Level

As Bangladesh undergoes a political transition, climate change remains a key priority for both the Government and civil society alike. With this programme, Switzerland wiII use its expertise and that of Swiss and local NGOs to support highly vulnerable communities to adapt to and mitigate the effects of climate change. This will ultimately contribute to reducing the costs of the impact of climate change for Bangladesh, including its impact on the economy.



AidData Chinese development finance profile

While China is becoming a main actor of international cooperation for development, it rarely discloses the specific financing terms and implementation details at project-level or transaction-level information about its foreign aid activities which makes it challenging for other actors of the international cooperation for development (including SDC) to understand their implications on recipient countries. The AidData project is building a dataset of country profiles summarizing Chinese’s aid with information form, function and impacts of their programs.


Talent Acceleration Program to Scale (TAP-2-Scale)

With this single-phase intervention, Switzerland aims to foster economic perspectives for Palestinian youth. The intervention will focus on creating long-term job placements of Palestinian graduates in international IT companies (including Switzerland), and it shall be achieved through upskilling programs tailored to private sector needs. The intervention is implemented in partnership with the Palestinian-Dutch start-up company TAP under the modality of payment for results.


Appui aux Programmes PASEC et PACTE de la CONFEMEN (Conférence des Ministres de l’Education des Etats et Gouvernements de la Francophonie)

En soutenant le Programme d’Analyse des Systèmes Educatifs (PASEC) et le Programme d’Appui à la Transformation de l’Education (PACTE) de la Conférence des Ministres de l’Education de la Francophonie (CONFEMEN), la Suisse contribue au renforcement de l’accès et de la qualité de l’éducation dans ses pays prioritaires en Afrique de l’Ouest. Des analyses approfondies des systèmes éducatifs sont réalisées, et les résultats permettent d’orienter les politiques éducatives pour une efficacité accrue.
