Better Planning for Albania's Government

Albania’s economy, public finance, and debt remain areas of concern as the government tries to keep positive growth and stability in a challenging context. Although capacities for policy and financial planning have improved, there still is a need for better performance, monitoring and integrated planning. Since 2005 a group of donors including Switzerland introduced the Integrated Planning System, a tool that aids the government in strategy planning while observing budget constraints.

Bosnia and Herzegovina: Integrated Local Development (ILDP)

The project is designed in accordance with the existing relevant policy framework in BiH. It will directly enhance the further consolidation of the local planning framework within the overall planning and financial systems of BiH in accordance with EU policies. It will contribute to the implementation of BiH's Country Development Strategy and Social Inclusion Strategy, as well as to the realisation of a wide spectrum of local (municipal) development strategies and of sectoral strategies (line ministries).

Mongolian Potato Programme revitalised Mongolia's potato sector

Potatoes are the second-most important food crop in Mongolia, following wheat. However, despite the importance of potatoes, production in post-communist Mongolia had dropped threefold by 1996. Within a decade, though, the sector rebounded and by 2008 reached the 1990 level in regards to vegetable seeds no significant improvement has taken place since 1990.
