Most migrants nowadays live in cities, and their socio-economic inclusion and protection are central for sustainable development. The programme supports cities to plan for and create inclusive, prosperous, and resilient communities. It gives city actors a voice in regional and global debates on migration, and is powered by the continued, strategic collaboration with the Mayors Migration Council and Cities Alliance, linked with longstanding Swiss expertise and rooted in SDC's priorities.
Regional Labour Migration Governance Programme Central Asia

The programme strengthens evidence-based migration governance in Central Asia to improve safe, fair, regular and skills-based labour migration pathways, expanding opportunities for the millions of male and female labour migrants. Through its implementing partners IOM and ACTED, Switzerland supports regional collaboration, national multi-stakeholder partnerships, incl private sector and civil society, as well as local women-led initiatives, responding to the increasingly diversified migration landscape in Central Asia.
Somalia, UNHAS Sustaining Humanitarian Access in Somalia

The humanitarian situation in Somalia remains dire, with access constraints limiting support to vulnerable communities. As conflict, insecurity, and poor infrastructure leave many areas reachable only by air, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) provides a vital lifeline. Through its support to UNHAS, Switzerland enables humanitarian and development actors to sustain operations, deliver life-saving assistance, and reach those most in need.
Strengthening Social Cohesion through Civil Society and Media in Moldova (COSMA)

People, communities and regions are increasingly divided in Moldova and trust in state institutions is historically low. Building dialogue between people, including with refugees from Ukraine, (ethnic) communities, regions, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), independent media, and public institutions is essential to rebuild trust and solidarity. This project will strengthen the capacity of CSOs and independent media to act as agents of accountability and social cohesion and contribute to a more cohesive and peaceful society in Moldova.
Strengthening the institutional and operational capacities of the Civil Protection of the Capital District for disaster risk management.

The recent earthquakes highlighted the urgent need to strengthen emergency response capacities in Venezuela. This project will support the Civil Protection and Disaster Risk Management Authority of the Capital District by enhancing its operational, logistical, communication and coordination capacities for disaster preparedness and response. Implemented by the Venezuelan Red Cross, in partnership with the German Red Cross and with Swiss support, the intervention will contribute to a more effective, coordinated and resilient disaster risk management system for the benefit of vulnerable communities.
SUD, UNFPA, Responding to Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

The project aims to improve the safety, dignity, and recovery of women, girls, and vulnerable populations affected by Gender-Based Violence in Sudan. It focuses on delivering lifesaving GBV and health services while strengthening prevention, risk mitigation, and social norms change in a highly fragile and conflict-affected context. The project is also highly relevant given the scale of protection risks, displacement, and limited access to essential services, particularly for women and girls.
LEB UNICEF - Support to Sustainable Water Management and Digital Governance in Lebanon

Lebanon’s simple, practical and sustainable knowledge platform for data-based decision-taking by public water institutions will allow for a more sustainable use of groundwater, with improved understanding of one strategic aquifer essential for the livelihoods of people and agriculture. It directly builds on Switzerland expertise in data and model-based water management in karstic morphologies and complements the Switzerland portfolio for sustainable service delivery in Lebanon.

The SDC Cooperation Programme for Yemen aims to reduce aid dependency, strengthen resilience and support sustainable livelihoods. This project will support this transition by unlocking local agricultural potential in selected areas of the southern Taiz Governorate. The intervention puts a focus on women’s economic empowerment and leverages women’s talents and potential for change.
France: SET Forest Fires, July 2026

Due to the devastating forest fires in several parts of France and resulting needs for international response the French authorities submitted a demand to Switzerland for assistance. Based on the agreement between SDC/H and the Swiss Armed Forces (ADRIANA) a joint deployment (SDC/Swiss Armed Forces) with two Superpuma helicopters (Swiss Air Force) and respective staff members is planned to support the French responders to limit damage of nature and infrastructure by dropping water on the burning areas and in particular to protect and support the affected population. A similar deployment took place in August 2021 in Greece.
From Access to Inclusion: Advancing Health System Integration for Refugees (FAIR Health)

The intervention aims at supporting Moldova’s transition from fragmented emergency assistance towards more integrated health financing and service delivery for refugees and other vulnerable foreign populations. It combines developing sustainable health financing mechanisms and strengthening the institutional capacity of the public healthcare system with community outreach, for a more resilient and inclusive health system.
