Strengthening ASEAN on Disaster Risk Management

This reflects Switzerland’s commitment to devolve humanitarian aid and promote anticipatory action, in face of increasing climate risks.

Turquoise Mountain: Rebuilding the Syrian Craft Economy

As Syria works to rebuild its economy, its traditional craft sector offers an opportunity to preserve cultural heritage while supporting livelihoods. Years of conflict and economic hardship have left many artisan businesses struggling to access finance, equipment and markets. Switzerland, in partnership with Turquoise Mountain (TM), is helping artisans overcome these barriers, rebuild viable businesses and reach new markets. The initiative contributes to both the survival of Syria’s craft traditions and its broader socio-economic recovery.

Transparency and Accountability for Serbia Key Reforms (TASK)

The intervention strengthens capacities of independent oversight institutions in promoting integrity, transparency and accountability within the public administration. It contributes to a more effective and accountable local governance. The project also helps to make public institutions more inclusive and reduce discrimination against vulnerable groups by supporting the work of the Equality Protection Commissioner, local ombudspersons and the networks of female and minority police officers.

WISE PLUS: Water and Irrigation Services Enhancement for Climate Resilience

Switzerland will support Armenia’s Water and Irrigation Services Enhancement Program through the World Bank’s Global Water Security and Sanitation Partnership Trust Fund. The contribution will strengthen water sector reforms, climate-resilient water resources management, groundwater monitoring, evidence-based planning, institutional capacity and the financial sustainability of water services. It will help address growing water stress and climate risks while advancing Armenia’s priorities for sustainable water governance and resilience.

Integrated Support to UNHCR’s Education and Livelihoods Interventions for Afghan Refugees in Iran

Overall objective: Afghan refugees and vulnerable host communities in Iran improve their resilience, self-reliance and access to essential services. The project strengthens access to quality education, expands market-oriented livelihood opportunities, and extends protection services for the most vulnerable, supporting national systems that have hosted refugees for decades and reinforcing Iran’s refugee-inclusive approach.

OCHA - Support to the Yemen Humaniarian Fund (YHF) 2026-2029

Yemen is facing a complex humanitarian crisis, which is being exacerbated by the resent military escalations. Switzerland through the OCHA managed Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF) supports vulnerable and conflict affected people with humanitarian aid, protecton and basic services. The YHF is a fast and agile funding mechanism aimed at responding to newly emerging and critically underfunded needs. It is working with a broad range of local and international partners in all parts of Yemen and is a critical enabler of humanitarian reform efforts.

Recovering together: Transforming the Impacts of the Earthquake into Opportunities for People, Markets and Communities

The project supports the early recovery of earthquake-affected communities in El Junko through safe and circular rubble management, environmental restoration and temporary employment opportunities for vulnerable households. By combining nature-based solutions with income generation through e-vouchers, the intervention will reduce environmental risks, support livelihood recovery and contribute to the revitalisation of the local economy and community resilience.

Household support for treatment and recovery of children with malnutrition in Miranda and Zulia States

this emergency project aims to reduce the barriers preventing children under five from accessing treatment and recovering from malnutrition in the states of Miranda and Zulia. This will be achieved through medical and nutritional support throughout the treatment process, which may be provided with cash assistance or, alternatively, through community focal points working with health centres.

MYA: Myanmar Humanitarian Fund - OCHA

Switzerland supports a principled, coordinated and locally led humanitarian response to Myanmar’s persistent crisis through the Myanmar Humanitarian Fund (MHF) managed by United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Through flexible and needs-based financing, the Fund enables humanitarian actors to address the most severe and underfunded needs, ensuring that conflict- and disaster-affected populations, particularly in hard-to-reach and underserved areas, can access life-saving assistance and protection services.

Locally Led Protection and Durable Solutions in Sinjar and Tel Afar

Mass casualties, violence, destruction and displacement inflicted by the Islamic State, coupled with decades or marginalization, exclusion, and inequalities have eroded the social fabric and heightened vulnerabilities of minority groups, especially the Yazidi, in Ninewa Governorate of Iraq. This project by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) invests in local community structures to strengthen resilience, protection, social cohesion, thereby improving conditions for the return of internally displaced people.

Financing Swiss OECD DAC Chair 2027-2030, single phase

At a time of significant change in the IC landscape, the OECD DAC Chairmanship provides Switzerland with an opportunity to contribute to the strategic reform of the DAC, promote key Swiss priorities, and strengthen Switzerland’s visibility and influence within the OECD and the broader IC community. This credit proposal covers the voluntary contribution to the OECD, financing the DAC Chair’s office costs, including travel and operational expenses, for the full duration of the mandate from 2027 to 2030.

Madagascar, Direct Action to rehabilitate pumping and treatment capacity of Farafaty station

Tropical Cyclone Gezani struck Madagascar in February 2026, causing heavy damage, deaths, and injuries. Key water infrastructure in Toamasina was severely affected, leaving many without safe water. In response, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation deployed a humanitarian team and provided emergency funding and water supply equipment. In a second phase, the focus is on restoring the Farafaty pumping station to ensure reliable water supply.
