The Global Education Monitoring Report and the International Institute for Educational Planning contribute to ensure equitable, inclusive quality education for all (SDG 4) by producing rigorous evidence, data and recommendations on education and by strengthening education systems’ policies, planning and management. Their work is critical for SDC’s global and bilateral policy dialogue and Switzerland’s added value on systems strengthening and evidence based policy and practice.

International Land Coalition (ILC) Core contribution

Equitable land rights are key to sustainable and resilient food systems. ILC is a global network of organisations working on people centred land governance in over 80 countries. ILC aims at securing land rights for people, who live on and from the land. SDC supports ILC since it contributes to many Swiss core interests such as peaceful and democratic societies, and addresses growing inequalities in food systems– particularly gender inequality.

MMV - Medicines for Malaria Venture

Treating malaria requires developing different medicines suitable for people in lower-income countries. The Geneva-based Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) drives the discovery, development and implementation of new antimalarial medicines. Working with pharmaceutical, academic and affected country partners, including Swiss companies and research, MMV contributes to equitable access to affordable and quality medicines for vulnerable groups at risk of malaria, in particular children and pregnant women.

Core Contribution to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) 2022 - 2024

The International Union for Conservation of Nature is the leading global organization for knowledge on the status of nature and the measures required to safeguard it. It is a worldwide union of State and non-State members. The objective for SDC is to contribute to the implementation of the programme of the Union for reversing biodiversity loss and climate resilience, with focus on people, land, climate, water and oceans. Switzerland is State member of the Union and hosts the seat of the organization in Gland.

Health System Strengthening Support Program

With its contribution to the health common fund, Switzerland supports the Government of Mozambique, in particular local governments, to support equitable access to primary health services focused on women, children and people living in rural areas. As the current format of the health common fund is going to end in 2024, Switzerland, with its last contribution, will advocate for improved coordination among donors and the various existing health funds.

LEB OCHA Lebanon Humanitarian Fund

Humanitarian needs increased between 2021 and 2022 as living standards continued to deteriorate and physical and mental wellbeing of people in Lebanon continued to worsen. In Lebanon, more than 2,5 million people are in need of some form of humanitarian assistance. The Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) is a Country-Based Pooled Fund (CBPF) and an effective instrument to respond to arising emergencies within Lebanon’s multi-layered crisis. SDC has supported the LHF since 2018 and is a member of the Advisory Board (AB).

Se fondant sur sa forte expérience en matière de formation professionnelle par apprentissage, la Suisse soutient les réformes engagées au Burkina Faso afin d’augmenter la proportion de jeunes suivant une formation professionnelle. Le renforcement des compétences techniques et professionnelles des jeunes facilite leur insertion socio-professionnelle, améliore la cohésion sociale et contribue à la prévention de l’extrémisme violent.
Contribution to the OSCE Academy in Bishkek

In Central Asia, the OSCE Academy offers a unique platform to train the youth in governance, economic policy, and security topics, as well as to foster open and constructive debate on regional security, development, and interconnectedness. Rural Communities’ Disaster Risks and Climate Change Resilience

In the natural disasters prone environment of Kyrgyzstan, most vulnerable to such risks are the rural communities. In the frame of its Country Strategic Plans (CSP), the World Food Programme (WFP) strengthens their disaster risk and climate change resilience. The Swiss contribution to this intervention line/pillar of the CSP will magnify its impact via implementing a more comprehensive approach and increasing the number of direct beneficiaries.
Solidar - Health Emergency

Albania suffers from insufficient resources for public health emergencies and poor quality of primary care emergency services. The project aims at supporting the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and non-health actors to establish a sound coordination based on clear regulations and standards for health emergencies. It will also strengthen the capacity of healthcare and enable community initiatives regarding health emergencies preparedness and response.

Contribution to the ICRC Climate and Environment Transition Fund

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is the main humanitarian partner of Switzerland. The ICRC Climate and Environment Transition Fund is designed to support climate and environment initiatives in ICRC operations worldwide. This will happen around three pillars: The ICRC will adapt its programmes, improve environmental protection in armed conflict and reduce its environmental footprint. Switzerland supports ICRC’s climate and environment transition by contributing to the Fund set up for this purpose.

Cameroun – DRC: Protection dans l’Adamaoua et l’Est

Le conflit armé en République Centrafricaine continue de déclencher des mouvements de populations importants vers l'est du Cameroun. Ceux déjà déplacés n’ont pas l’intention de renter, alors que ces régions du pays ont un taux de pauvreté très élevé. Avec ce projet, la Suisse complète avec la composante de protection l'approche de graduation qui vise à sortir des populations de la pauvreté extrême ainsi réduisant les risques, les menaces et les vulnérabilités des populations ciblées de manière holistique.
