Programme Santé Burundi Phase Unique

Cette phase unique se concentre sur trois thèmes spécifiques (sécurité transfusionnelle, hépatites virales et système de référence) identifiés comme des niches prioritaires par nos partenaires. Ce projet est également une phase de transition entre le Programme Santé Grands Lacs, fini en mars 2017, et le nouveau Programme Santé Burundi 2018-2020. En répondant à des besoins spécifiques, la Suisse assure ainsi sa position dans le secteur de la santé au Burundi durant cette transition.

UNited For Youth Employment in Cambodia

Youth in Cambodia, in particular new entrants to the labour market, face critical challenges in accessing decent and productive employment opportunities. They have limited access to relevant skills, quality education, entrepreneurship training, information about markets and labour rights. With SDC’s contribution, the UN joint programme will support young women and men to access to (self-) employment opportunities and decent jobs.

TRUST - Transition redevable pour la société tunisienne

La Suisse veut mettre en valeur son expérience pour l’amélioration de la gouvernance des services publics tunisiens par le renforcement de la redevabilité. Elle agit principalement sur les instances publiques indépendantes (IPI) formellement en charge du système de redevabilité. Les IPI sont formées et mieux organisées pour augmenter la confiance entre citoyens et les institutions par des instruments de contrôle démocratique et le dialogue avec les trois pouvoirs et la société civile.

Contribution to WHO Emergency Response for the Flooding and Mudslide Event in Freetown, Sierra Leone

On the night of 13 August 2017, the city of Freetown in Sierra Leone and its outskirts experienced torrential rains and landslides. At least 497 people were killed following the collapse of a hillside. 800 people are still missing and 3’000 were displaced. Given the low water quality and poor living conditions of the affected population, there is a serious risk of cholera outbreaks and diseases to spread. With SDC Humanitarian Aid’s (SDC HA) support, WHO will contribute to the detection, prevention and control of disease outbreaks in the aftermath of the mudslides and flooding.

Sierra Leone Landslide: Contribution to IFRC Emergency Appeal

On the night of 13 August 2017, the city of Freetown in Sierra Leone and its outskirts experienced torrential rains and landslides. At least 400 people were killed following the collapse of a hillside. 600 people are still missing and 3’000 were displaced. Through this contribution, Switzerland will assist 9’600 victims and affected people in Freetown with emergency and recovery services to improve the condition of shelter, water sanitation and hygiene as well as health care.

Support to Portugal in fighting wildfires

Wildfires in Portugal this year have accounted for more than one third of the burnt forest in the entire 28-nation European Union. As national capacities are not sufficient to end successfully the blazes, Portugal requested international support, which is delivered by Marocco and EU states. August 18 Switzerland received and positively answered an official request from the Portuguese government.

Intervention en santé mentale et soutien psychosocial pour les migrants au Niger

2016 environ 200,000 migrants sont passés par le Niger sur l’axe Niger-Lybie/Algérie. Ces migrants sont souvent exposés à des violations graves des droits de l’homme et des traumas. Seule une petite proportion des migrants bénéficie d’une forme d’assistance couvrant les besoins essentiels (santé, abri, nourriture). Une réponse aux traumatismes subis est quasi inexistante. Par ce co-financement, la Suisse contribue donc au renforcement d’une réponse santé mentale/psychosociale ainsi que d’autres services de protection pour les migrants au Niger pour préserver leur bien-être et le potentiel de développement humain.

Agricultural Services and Livelihood Improvement (ASLI)

Farming households in the Central Highlands of Afghanistan suffer from high levels of poverty and food insecurity. Their agricultural productivity remains low due to insufficient access to inputs and information. The Agricultural Services and Livelihood Improvement project aims to improve the livelihoods of poor rural families by strengthening the public extension system at subnational level to enable targeted, demand-driven agricultural service delivery.

Colombia: HI: Comprehensive approach to mine action in the departments of Cacua and Nariño

SDC will support HI in strenghtning and complementing the institutional and community capaxity to manage min eaction with a differential approach (indigenous, peasant and afro-descendant) in the departments of Cauca and Nariño, under the Government's Rapid Response Strategy that is being implemented as part of the peace agreement signed with the FARC. The focus of the 2nd phase will be on a comprehensive approach (mine risk education, humanitarian demining, victim assistance and rehabilitation, and advocacy) that will bring a broader support to victims and vulnerable communities; and will link mine action dto developments programs as contribution towards peacebuilding in Colombia.

Food Security and livelihoods support for farmers and IDP's from Yei and Maridi States and refugees in Bidibidi, Uganda

01.08.2017 - 28.02.2019

Through this corss-border project, Caritas Belgium and its partners intend to meet the basic food needs of vulnerable residents trapped in the beleaguered city of Yei/Central Equatoria, to improve the food security and livelihoods of farmers in Maridi County/Western Equatoria and to (re-)build the livelihoods of newly arrived South Sudanese refugees and vulnerable Ugandan host communities in and around the Bidibidi refugee settlement.
