Additional Allocation 2016 of SDC Funding to ICRC Operation in Nigeria

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

Somalia: le sfide di un intervento in un contesto di crisi permanente

La popolazione somala non deve affrontare solo un’estrema povertà, ma anche violenze e continui choc climatici. A causa del conflitto in corso è difficile aiutare la popolazione. La DSC sostiene sul posto il CICR, una delle poche organizzazioni che sono in grado di intervenire in tutto il Paese, e nel 2016 contribuisce con 4 milioni CHF alle sue attività,  che mirano anche a dare agli abitanti le risorse necessarie per uno sviluppo a medio e lungo termine.

IFAD: Fondo internazionale per lo sviluppo agricolo – Core Contribution

Il Fondo internazionale per lo sviluppo agricolo (IFAD) è un’agenzia specializzata delle Nazioni Unite incaricata di aiutare uomini e donne delle comunità rurali a migliorare la loro sicurezza alimentare e la qualità della loro alimentazione, ad aumentare il loro reddito e a potenziare la loro resilienza. Il suo mandato è quindi perfettamente in linea con le priorità di politica di sviluppo della Svizzera.

Contribution de programme à la plate-forme de Medicus Mundi Suisse (MMS)

Medicus Mundi Suisse regroupe 53 organisations non-gouvernementales suisses de coopération internationale qui travaillent dans le domaine de la santé. Ce réseau est mandaté par ses membres pour améliorer la qualité de leur travail en favorisant échange et capitalisation d’expériences. Il s’efforce aussi de sensibiliser le public suisse sur le droit à la santé. Sur la base de l’expérience de ses membres il contribue au dialogue sur les questions de santé globale avec les partenaires suisses et internationaux.

Festival del Film Locarno 2016-2018

L’art et la culture sont des éléments indissociables de l’identité et du développement d’une société. Avec le soutien de la DDC, le Festival del Film Locarno permet chaque année à une sélection de cinéastes et de producteurs de pays du Sud et de l’Est de se former, de trouver des partenaires et des ressources pour leur projet de film, et de montrer leurs œuvres dans l’un des dix plus importants festivals de cinéma au monde. Les éditions 2016 à 2018 de la section Open Doors du Festival seront consacrées à l’Asie du Sud avec l’objectif de contribuer au renforcement et à la diffusion des cinématographies émergentes de cette région.

For many years the SDC has been supporting partners involved in relevant activities in this field in Switzerland. These activities contribute to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals, which Switzerland approved in September 2015.

WFP - Food Aid Swiss Dairy Products (Nicaragua)

Food aid is a means of tackling undernutrition and malnutrition. With food aid, SDC – through Swiss Humanitarian Aid – puts the humanitarian mission to "save lives and alleviate suffering" into practice.

Regional Art and Culture Programme in Central Asia

The programme builds on a vision that the strengthened and pluralistic cultural sector contributes to developing and empowering the civil society. The programme aims to protect and to enlarge a social space where democratic values can be expressed and intercultural dialogue happen. lt has the potential to allow marginalised voices to be heard and new or unpopular ideas to be shared.

Salon Africain du Livre 2016-2020

L’art et la culture sont des éléments indissociables de l’identité et du développement d’une société. Avec le soutien de la DDC, le Salon africain du livre, de la presse et de la culture donne chaque année une vitrine unique en Europe aux auteurs – confirmés ou émergents – de la littérature africaine. En outre, il fournit une plateforme d’affaires aux éditeurs qui s’engagent pour rendre cette littérature accessible, notamment sur le continent africain. Le Salon africain contribue ainsi au rayonnement de la littérature africaine en Suisse, mais également en Afrique et dans le monde.
