Culture and Small Action Project

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding for responding to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to WFP operations allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies.

UNDP Thematic Trust Fund for Crisis Prevention and Recovery (BCPR)

UNDP places critical importance on the need to effectively address Crisis Prevention and Recovery (CPR) issues, which can impede progress towards human development and MDG attainment. In 1998 UNDP was mandated by the UN General Assembly to assume responsibility for disaster prevention and preparedness. It has since, through its presence in 177 countries, supported member states in achieving the outcomes of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA).

Regional Program: Scientific Cooperation between Eastern Europe and Switzerland (SCOPES), Institutional Partnerships and Research

Der Schweizerische Nationalfonds setzt das seit 1990 laufende Projekt SCOPES mit Partnern aus Osteuropa und der GUS um. Im Rahmen dieser Zusammenarbeit werden Forschungsinstitutionen aus Partnerländern in ihren Aufgaben unterstützt. Als weiteres Element führen Forschungsteams aus Osteuropa und der Schweiz in gemeinsamen Forschungsprojekten Grundlagenforschung durch. Deren internationale Vernetzung trägt wesentlich dazu bei, qualitativ hochwertige Forschungsresultate nutzbar zu machen.

La violenza domestica, un freno alla democratizzazione

La violenza domestica è una realtà preoccupante in Bolivia. Si tratta di un fenomeno che, oltre a lasciare strascichi a livello fisico e psicologico sulle vittime, ostacola anche il processo di democratizzazione e la lotta alla povertà. La DSC si impegna a contrastare la violenza nei confronti delle donne.

Interkulturelles Verständnis und interkulturelle Kompetenzen sind Schlüsselfaktoren für eine gerechte, friedliche und nachhaltige Entwicklung.Kinder und Jugendliche als grösste Bevölkerungsgruppe sind der wichtigste Hebel für sozialen Wandel und Entwicklung.

Il Programma congiunto delle Nazioni Unite sull’HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) è stato concepito per garantire un approccio integrato e coerente nella lotta contro l'HIV/AIDS, impedire la diffusione dell'HIV e migliorare l'aspettativa e la qualità di vita delle persone colpite dalla malattia. In tale ottica, l'UNAIDS definisce le linee guida valide a livello mondiale ed è una delle principali fonti di dati sull'HIV/AIDS.

Organisation faîtière d’une quarantaine d’ONG, la FEDEVACO est le partenaire privilégié des collectivités publiques vaudoises pour le soutien à des projets de développement au Sud et à l’Est. Garante de qualité et d’une bonne gestion financière, elle est, pour ses membres, un lieu central d’échanges, de formation, de capitalisation et de cofinancements de projets. Par son travail d’information, elle sensibilise les élus et la population vaudoise aux enjeux globaux. La FEDEVACO s’appuie sur les compétences reconnues d’environ 40 experts bénévoles, offrant chaque année l’équivalent de deux emplois à plein temps. Elle est le catalyseur de la coopération vaudoise et ambitionne de renforcer encore ce rôle moteur.

Le programme de la Fondation Tdh vise à réduire de manière durable la mortalité et la morbidité enfantine, à permettre l’accès à la santé, à l’eau et à l’assainissement pour les mères et enfants les plus pauvres, à protéger les enfants victimes de conflits et de catastrophes, à développer des systèmes de protection de l’enfant et à promouvoir les bonnes pratiques en matière de justice pour mineurs. Il contribue à la promotion du développement durable et à la réduction de la pauvreté dans le domaine de l’enfance, dans des contextes fragiles.

Local Governance Program Nicaragua (PGL-APIM Nic)

In Nicaragua, municipalities are the main driver of local development. However, many rural municipalities have weak human and financial capacities to assume their mandates. The program aims at improving living conditions of the population by strengthening municipal capacities, providing access to basic services and enhancing municipal investment opportunities. Citizen participation and transparency are essential principles of the program.
