Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) is directly linked to people’s health, their livelihoods and to a sustainable development in general. The activities fight effectively diarrhea and therefore have positive effects on the nutritional and health condition of the targeted population. Starting in February 2012, SDC and the Ministry of City Management (MoCM) launched a joint WASH programme in rural and urban areas. The goal of this programme is to improve the living conditions of the targeted population through better access to safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities. The DPRK institutions at national and provincial level are benefiting from technical support in regard to water quality and adequate techniques provided by the SDC WASH Implementation Unit.

Die Stärkung von zivilgesellschaftlichen Partnern ist ein wichtiger Faktor für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung. 92% der Partnerorganisationen von INTERTEAM wünschen eine Weiterführung der Zusammenarbeit. INTERTEAM prägt(e) die Modernisierung der Personellen Zusammenarbeit als grösste Deutschschweizer Entsendeorganisation. Jährlich interessieren sich 300 qualifizierte Berufsleute für 20 neue Einsatzposten. Als komplementärer Ansatz werden Kooperationen mit (schweizerischen) Hilfswerken angestrebt.

Valais Solidaire, fondé en 2000, est le fruit de la volonté des organisations valaisannes de coopération de regrouper leurs forces pour plus d’efficacité et de cohérence. La fédération a pour but de promouvoir l'ouverture, la sensibilité, l'engagement et le soutien des autorités et de la population valaisanne à l'égard des pays défavorisés du Sud et de L'Est. En 2012, la fédération compte 25 membres, aussi bien francophones que germanophones.

Mine action is of direct relevance for the implementation and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), which serve as an important reference point for Switzerland.

EdM accompagne des expériences visant à améliorer la qualité de l’éducation de base et la dimension communautaire de la santé maternelle et infantile, sur la base d’approches élaborées et développées avec ses partenaires, dans des pays du Sud. Il s’agit de la « Pédagogie du Texte » (PdT) en éducation et de l’approche «Collaborer avec les individus, les familles et les communautés pour améliorer la santé maternelle et néonatale - IFC » en santé. Dans le cadre de sa démarche stratégique visant dès le début l’institutionnalisation des expériences, et tout en respectant le principe de subsidiarité, des efforts importants seront déployées pour renforcer et/ou porter à l’échelle des expériences testées avec succès.
