Survey and Mapping Mines and Explosive Hazards in Yemen

The two-year project aims to protect civilian lives and livelihoods in frontline areas through the systematic map-ping of weapon-contaminated areas, timely disposal of explosive ordnances in and around homes, and providing comprehensive explosive ordnance risk education. Special attention will be given to vulnerable groups, particu-larly children. Given the severe threat posed by explosive ordnances in Yemen, this project is essential for im-proving safety, enabling access to vital resources and services, and contributing to conducive conditions for return.
Forest Landscape Restoration Hub (FLR Hub)

This joint initiative by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the World Wildlife Fund, and the World Resources Institute supports the restoration of forests and landscapes in Africa and South America. It brings together governments and local organisations to work as partners and improve the benefits of forests for people, climate, and the environment. Switzerland’s supports the initiative in Southeast Africa and helps set-up a Knowledge Platform in South America for mutual learning.

Les conflits armés à l’est de la RDC entrainent des déplacements récurrents de population, des violences sur les civils, la perte de moyens d’existence ainsi que des besoins humanitaires importants. Dans la continuité des deux phases antérieures, cette intervention vise à renforcer la résilience des populations affectées par les conflits par une intervention en sécurité alimentaire, moyens de subsistance et eau, hygiène et assainissement, dans 4 zones de santé du territoire de Beni, au Nord Kivu.
Safer Migration project (SaMi)

Labour migration is a central pillar of the Nepalese economy, remittances contributing to more than 20% of the GNI. According to the Constitution of Nepal (2015) foreign labour migration should be made safe and beneficial. To this end, Switzerland will continue to support the three spheres (federal, provincial and local) of the Government of Nepal through the pioneering Safer Migration project (SaMi) exit phase, aiming at institutionalising, professionalising and upscaling migration services offered across the country.
Social Cohesion and Peace Initiative, Phase 1

Social cohesion in Moldova is weak, with low levels of intergroup contact and civic engagement. Divisions run largely along political lines and have deepened since the Russian aggression against Ukraine. Fostering constructive dialogue is essential for building social cohesion and resilience. The project aims at creating opportunities for young and elderly people to become more active in community processes, while addressing dividing lines within the Moldovan society and paving the way for inclusive nation-building and sustainable peace.

Les conflits armés à l’est de la RDC continuent à engendrer des violations graves des droits de l’enfant et de la femme, y compris les violences basées sur le genre, le recrutement forcé et le manque d’accès à l’éducation. Par le biais de mécanismes et structures communautaires et de gouvernance locale, ce projet vise à identifier les principaux problématiques de protection, y apporter une assistance et contribuer à leur résolution.

La crise humanitaire à l’est de la RDC est liée à la persistance des conflits armés et intercommunautaires, aux épidémies et à la faible gouvernance, entrainant des besoins humanitaires aigus depuis trois décennies. Grâce à cette intervention en santé primaire et secondaire, nutrition, eau, hygiène et assainissement, la Suisse contribue à la réduction de la morbidité et de la mortalité des personnes affectées par les conflits, tout en renforçant leur résilience face aux futures maladies.
Strengthening Accountability for Gender Equality (SAGE) in Zimbabwe

Women’s and girls’ participation in Zimbabwe’s economic and political life is undermined by a number of factors, including high levels of Gender-Based Violence. With a favourable policy framework in place, Switzerland will support UN Women as key interlocutor to strengthen public accountability and oversight for gender equality and women’s rights, while Oxfam will lead community-level initiatives to reduce gender-based violence and empower women and girls economically, politically and socially.
Armenia: Early Recovery after Floods 2024 (Direct Action)

Heavy rainfall in May 2024 led to flooding in Northern Armenia, four casualties, temporary displacement of 2’400 persons and considerable damage on public and private infrastructure. A Rapid Response Team of Swiss Humanitarian Aid Unit (SHA) assessed structural engineering (bridges, roads) damages. Based on that assessment, the proposed SHA Direct Action supports early recovery efforts in Armenia with pedestrian bridges, an event analysis and engineering advice.

In line with the priorities of the Governments of Moldova and Switzerland, the project aims to socially and economically empower women, including refugee women from Ukraine, increase their participation in decision-making and the workforce, promote their entrepreneurial activities, and finally contribute to a just, equal, inclusive and resilient society and economy in Moldova. The project will promote gender-responsive policies and initiatives to address key barriers to women's socio-economic inclusion.
Ensuring equitable access of refugees to quality health services in the Republic of Moldova (single-phase project)

The proposed initiative aims to provide equitable access to quality health care for refugees with temporary protection, in line with the priorities of both the Moldovan and Swiss governments. By strengthening the capacity of Moldovan health care authorities and service providers, it will address critical gaps in the delivery of health services for refugees and establish sustainable financing and monitoring mechanisms for such services. The project also seeks to raise awareness among refugees and health care providers on health care packages available to refugees.

Projet Réponse d’urgence à base communautaire à la menace des engins explosifs dans les régions de Mopti et Tombouctou (PRUCEE-MT)

Avec le retrait de la Mission multidimensionnelle intégrée des Nations Unies (MINUSMA) pour la stabilisation au Mali et de l’agence de la lutte antimines (UNMAS), les populations de Mopti et Tombouctou sont sans protection contre les engins explosifs. La Suisse renforce ainsi son engagement humanitaire, en partenariat avec d’autres bailleurs internationaux, pour combler ce vide. Elle offre une réponse d’urgence à base communautaire pour protéger les populations civiles et gérer les victimes.
