Swiss Cooperation Programme 2026-2028

The Swiss Cooperation Programme in Albania contributes to Switzerland’s foreign policy aim of promoting stability and European integration in the Western Balkans. In line with the Swiss Foreign Economic Policy Strategy, it supports the creation of favourable conditions for investment, private sector development, and job creation, thereby strengthening long-term economic partnerships between the two countries. Switzerland remains a committed bilateral donor and development partner in Albania, through the programmes of both the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation SDC and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO.

Switzerland is one of the main bilateral cooperation partners for Albania. The overall goal is to contribute to a functioning democracy, effective institutions and public services; a sustainable, inclusive and competitive market economy; and climate change mitigation as well as to achieving and implementing European standards and values.
