Advancing Land Use Rights

Projekt abgeschlossen

The impact hypothesis of the project is that the advancement of land use rights and natural resource benefits will improve income generating opportunities, socio-economic security and the quality of life of the concerned communities in a sustainable way: The protection of land use rights and the benefits from the use of forestry and fauna resources are crucial levers for the economic empowerment of local communities, and in particular for women, given the fact that 70% of Mozambicans live in rural areas (and an even higher percentage below the poverty threshold). Land and natural resources are also a crucial entry point to get local communities more involved in local governance and development processes. Therefore, the herewith proposed project aims to enforce the rights of communities as a crucial basis for sustainable socio-economic local development.
