Assistant Head of Mission 70% - 80% starting 1 March 2025 or by agreement

The Embassy of Switzerland in the Netherlands, based in The Hague, is looking for an assistant to the head of mission to complete its team. We are looking for a motivated and committed person who, with their administrative and organizational skills and proactive approach, will make a significant contribution to achieving our embassy's goals.

Your main tasks are:

  • Communication and point of contact for internal and external calls
  • Managing the agenda of the head of mission
  • Managing the representation mailbox and creating correspondence
  • Organizing and planning meetings, visits, invitations and events
  • Organizing business trips and being responsible for hotel reservations for visitors
  • Point of contact for protocol matters and contact person for local authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, customs authorities etc.)
  • General office organization and administration

Your profile:

  • Preferably commercial training and administrative work experience in an assistant role
  • Several years of experience in a similar role is an advantage
  • Very good organizational skills, strong time management and the ability to prioritize tasks independently and complete them efficiently
  • Outgoing, both orally and in writing, and intercultural skills
  • Confident use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, video conference tools) and modern office communication tools
  • Flexibility and openness to new challenges
  • High level of self-motivation, discretion, reliability and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good written and oral knowledge of German and English; knowledge of Dutch and French is an advantage

Consular Officer 80% as from 1st March 2025, or by arrangement

The Regional Consular Center Benelux is attached  to  the Swiss Embassy in The Hague and is responsible for all consular matters  in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We are looking for a motivated and open-minded person to strengthen our consular team. 

Your main tasks are: 

  • Providing of consular services for Swiss nationals living in the Benelux countries or temporarily  residing  abroad  (civil  status  and  registration,  identity  documents, confirmations, certifications etc.), as well as for foreign nationals wishing to travel to Switzerland (migration and visas). Customer service by e-mail, at the counter and by telephone. 

We are looking for a motivated person with the following profile: 

  • Preferably certified basic commercial education and administrative work experience with customer contact (registration office, civil status and/or migration an advantage) 
  • Social and intercultural skills 
  • Open, courteous and motivated personality, high flexibility, team spirit and ability to work under pressure, all-rounder talent 
  • Strong services and customer orientation 
  • Precise and conscientious way of working 
  • Swiss citizenship desirable (due to internal access regulations) 
  • Good written and oral skills in German, French and English; knowledge of Dutch is an advantage 
  • Very good IT skills (MS Office)
