New Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Swiss Embassy in Paraguay is monitoring the evolution of the Coronavirus pandemic closely. In order to contain the spreading of the epidemic, the Paraguayan government has decided to close all borders (land, sea and air).


General information

The Embassy urges the Swiss community in Paraguay to follow recommendations and guidelines given out by local authorities for the prevention and treatment of the coronavirus. In doubt, please refer to the Ministry of Public Health’s website.

In Switzerland, the relevant authority is the Federal Office of Public Health, which provides regular updates on its website regarding the situation in our country. The Embassy also provides regular updates on the measures taken by the Swiss government on its website.

On state level, the Federal Office of Public Health of Switzerland FHPO informs in regards to the Novel Coronavirus and publishes travel advice accordingly.

The Travel Advice FDFA (in German, French and Italian) offers travelers basic information for travel preparation by informing on possible risks and certain precautions. They are to be considered as a complementary source of information.
