Together with EHL Campus Singapore and Robert Parker Wine Advocate, the embassy is organising a wine masterclass on Swiss Wine and Women in Wine on 21 April at the EHL Campus. Society often expects men to ‘know about wine’. In many instances, the wine list and the pre-pour is first given to men when couples are dining together in a restaurant.

A portrait of the enchanted feminism of the 1970s, the film retraces the encounter of actress Delphine Seyrig and director Carole Roussopoulos in 1974. Both militant feminists, they were the pioneers of video activism in France who documented the demonstrations of French feminists and used these new technologies to combat the poor representation of women in public media. With a camera in hand, Delphine and Carole will engage in radical fights with insolence, intransigence, and a lot of humour.

This year's launch of Mission August 1st marks the first time the FDFA is celebrating Switzerland's national holiday online. The multilingual and interactive website – developed by Presence Switzerland together with the Consular Directorate – works as a virtual meeting place for the Swiss abroad, along with lovers of all things Swiss, where they can celebrate 1 August together and share their favourite moments online.

Swiss National Day Film screening ‘Switzerlanders’

Switzerlanders is a feature-length film edited from over 1,400 hours of film material submitted from all regions of Switzerland directed by Swiss director Michael Steiner (Wolkenbruch). Inspired by Ridley Scott's 2010 documentary ‘Life in a Day’ it offers glimpses of unknown ordinary Swiss lives in summer 2019. Originally intended to be released in the Swiss cinemas, it is now available for pay-per view streaming in Switzerland. In collaboration with The Projector, the Swiss Embassy if happy to screen the film online for free on 1 August, from 8 – 9.30 pm.
