Tajikistan is highly vulnerable to natural hazards and climate impacts, thus strengthening resilience needed as fundament for sustainable development. The intervention will contribute to (i) sustainable and effective mechanisms and instruments to improve risk governance through the national DRR platform, (ii) improved risk knowledge through robust loss data collection and recording, and (iii) preparedness measures through support to multi-hazard Early Warning Systems and risk information.
Climate Resilience Develoipment in Tajikistan

The contribution to the HELVETAS project aims at building resilience of livelihoods of the rural communities of Khatlon region, vulnerable to climate change. Human Rights Grants (HRG) program in Tajikistan

The Climate Sensitive Water Resources Management in Central Asia project strengthens national and regional organisations responsible for water resource management in Central Asia to implement climate-sensitive integrated water resources management in a regionally coordinated manner. Switzerland will contribute to this initiative which is designed in the frame of the German led, GIZ implemented Green Central Asia High-Level Platform.
Improving Community Resilience through Sustainable Livelihoods in the Rasht Valley, Tajikistan

The contribution to the Aga Khan Foundation project aims at improving the resilience of livelihoods of the remote rural communities of Rasht valley, vulnerable to climate change. The local population will get equitable access to water and sanitation and childcare services. The population and particularly women will get income generation opportunities and engage in management, regeneration and protection of their natural resources while adopting disaster risk reduction measures and practices.
Advancing climate-smart conservation agriculture across Southern Tajikistan (ACCA)

The project introduces climate smart irrigation as well as pomi- and horticulture techniques in vulnerable areas of the Southern part of the country. It will provide access to know-how and technologies to increase land productivity through adapted, climate smart vegetable cultivation, integrated pest management and efficient water management. Thus, the project contributes to improve food security and income opportunities for local agricultural smallholders.
National Water Resources Management Tajikistan (NWRM)

The last phase of the mandated Tajik National Water Resources Management Project-III of Syr Darya river basin will focus on sustainability and aims at improving rural livelihoods through an efficient and integrated management of water resources. The project will lead to climate resilient use, protection and development of basin water resources, improved irrigation efficiency, decreased risks of water-related disasters and allows smallholder farmers to increase incomes from agricultural production.
Adaptive and Resilient Communities in their Habitat (ARCH)

The project aims at supporting the remote mountainous communities of Pamirs and authorities in developing resilient habitat and improving people's livelihoods in Tajikistan. Safe Drinking Water and Sanitation Management

The project will allow people to use safe and affordable drinking water as well as equitable sanitation and hygiene thereby progressing towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 in Tajikistan. An integrated planning approach supports the building of the local and national capacities and strengthen the policy frameworks to enable sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene WASH services to the population of Eastern Khatlon and Gorno-Badakshan Autonomous Oblast (GBAO).
Access to Justice project in Tajikistan

This exit phase of the Access to Justice (A2J) in Tajikistan will solidify the free public legal aid system to vulnerable individuals with respect to their legal claims (e.g. child allowances, spouse support etc.). It will also entirely transmit the aid system to the state budget and to the institutional management by the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan in order to achieve full financial sustainability of access to Justice for the most vulnerable ones.
Weather, water and climate services for resilient rural livelihoods and wellbeing in Tajikistan Project (WWCS)

The project is providing efficient weather, water and climate services for the rural population of Tajikistan, especially those highly vulnerable to climate change, and it will contribute to the improvement of their livelihoods and resilience. As a result, people in the project area will use accurate/timely forecasts and improve agricultural productivity, hence guarantee food security, effectively manage irrigation water and reduce vulnerability to hazards.
