14 months after the full-scale invasion into Ukrainian territory the areas close to the frontline and Newly Accessible Areas remain severely affected by war. International support is needed to restore essential infrastructure and keep it operational for the provision of basic water services. This second phase programme targets comprehensive WASH humanitarian response and support partners through engineering designs, material delivery and projects in WASH and WASH related emergency response activities.

The aim of this innovative Scaling Up Impact-Linked Finance (ILF) program is to establish, scale, and mainstream the ILF practice that was pioneered by SDC and Roots of Impact (ROI) and thus enhance the impact of high-performing enterprises that reach out to and improve the livelihoods of millions of low-income households.
Strengthening the National HIV Response

The Newlands Clinic (NC) is a national Centre of Excellence for the comprehensive care of HIV patients with complex and advanced diseases. Through its training centre and research capacities it informs and strengthens Zimbabwe’s national HIV response. Managed by the Swiss Ruedi Lüthy Foundation, Switzerland’s support to the Newlands Clinic contributes to Switzerland’s visibility and excellent reputation in the country.

The NRC intervention seeks to provide assistance in the sectors of Protection, Education, Food Security and Livelihoods, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, to 6,483 direct beneficiaries, including children, adolescents, and their families in communities and schools of the Orinoco Mining Arc; a hotspot area for illegal mining and high levels of violence in Bolivar state, near the border between Venezuela and Brazil, a priority area for the SDC Guidance Note for Venezuela 2022-2024.

The present credit proposal funds UNHCR, IOM, HEKS and Helvetas in line with the JRP and Flash Appeal to ‘build back better’ by rebuilding, repairing and reconstructing essential camp infrastructure (shelter) to assist the population who have suffered through the destruction of the Cyclone Mocha in Rohingya refugee camps and Host community in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. The project is relevant for Switzerland as it supports in saving lives and alleviate sufferings through the reduction of vulnerability of the Rohingya refugees and promote humanitarian principles.

INSO leurs fournit ces services sous forme de briefings périodiques, de conseils individuels et de formations permettant une meilleure mise en oeuvre des programmes notamment ceux de la Suisse.

The 2021 UNAIDS Global AIDS Update shows that global HIV targets were missed because of inequalities. These are the same inequalities that fuel AIDS and other pandemics. Tackling inequalities can make a difference. The new Global Council on Inequality, AIDS and Pandemics will garner evidence and engage in political spaces to promote inequality-sensitive policies and solutions to drive the end of AIDS pandemic and help the world to better prepare for and prevent other pandemics.

Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) – Emergency Response Plan Sudan Armed Conflict

Millions of people in Sudan are facing critical shortages of food, water, sanitation, shelter, non-food items, as well as access to basic education, psychosocial support and protection since the outbreak of fighting between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on 15 April 2023. Based on its sectoral and technical areas of expertise, NRC therefore developed a multi-sectoral emergency response plan incl. multi-purpose cash, emergency shelter/ NFI, WASH, education assistance, and protection interventions.
Access to Green Financing for Enterprises

Building on Switzerland’s experience with innovative access to finance avenues, this programme facilitates mobilising green finance for small and medium sized enterprises in Bangladesh. After a year and a half of full-scale Russian aggression, the Swiss Humanitarian Aid continues to coordinate and implement different small-scale humanitarian projects to directly support vulnerable residents, returnees and internal displaced people (IDPs) in war-affected territories of Ukraine. Complementary to this, tons of Swiss humanitarian relief items are donated and regularly delivered in Ukraine to respond to pressing humanitarian needs.
