OCHA Ethiopia, Humanitarian Response Fund (HRF) / OCHA Somalia, Common Humanitarian Fund (CHF)

The HRF and CHF are pooled funding mechanisms established respectively, in Ethiopia and Somalia, to provide rapid and flexible funding to respond to humanitarian emergencies and priorities. In Somalia, the prior humanitarian focus on seasonal emergencies is phasing out with a new emphasis on resilience programming – reflected in the introduction of a 3-year CAP in 2013. In Ethiopia, the HRF is not geared to respond to chronic problems but engages in disaster risk management and early recovery interventions.

Wiwanana Foundation

Wiwanana is a newly created Mozambican NGO who will implement a community health empowerment project to improve the health literacy and the overall health status of the rural poor target population in two districts in Northern Mozambique. After completion of this phase the Wiwanana Foundation will be able to independently manage its activities in a professional manner.

Le programme vise à réduire de manière durable la mortalité et la morbidité enfantine, à permettre l’accès à la santé, à l’eau et à l’assainissement pour les mères et enfants les plus pauvres, à protéger les enfants victimes de conflits et de catastrophes, à développer des systèmes de protection de l’enfant et à promouvoir les bonnes pratiques en matière de justice pour mineurs. Il contribue à la promotion du développement durable et à la réduction de la pauvreté dans le domaine de l’enfance, dans des contextes fragiles.

The program of IAMANEH Switzerland addresses women and children in Western Africa and the Western Balkans in order to secure their access to quality primary health services, to grant safe motherhood and birth, to offer protection and safety from violence and health damaging practices and to allow informed choice with regard to family planning and prevention. Advocacy work contributes to the improvement of frame conditions for health and the securing of a sustainable health and social protection system in these regions.

Solidar Switzerland’s cooperation engagement contributes to poverty reduction and respect of human rights. It supports political and economical processes to improve equitable access to resources, labour and power in a globalised world. Special focus is to enhance the decent work agenda and to foster democratic structures. At the same time Solidar undertakes awareness raising and advocacy activities in Switzerland, in order to sensitise the Swiss public on development policy issues.

CGIAR: Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research – Core Contribution
