MarketMakers
02.04.2012
- 31.05.2017
Poor economic performance in the recent years has led to insufficient job creation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Young women and men have been hardest hit by the economic crisis and are also over-proportionally affected by the precarious working conditions, including low wages and lack of social insurance. MarketMakers aims at stimulating the creation of new employment opportunities and demand-driven professional skills training for young people in three selected economic sectors (e.g. ICT).

Effective Grain Storage for Better Livelihoods of African Farmers
01.04.2012
- 31.03.2016
Post harvest losses are being recognised by all major stakeholders such as Southern African Development Community (SADC), the African Development Bank and FAO as a major problem. Postharvest losses have repercussions on hunger, poverty alleviation, income generation and economic growth. On the other hand besides quantitative losses, qualitative losses imply that the full nutritional value is not delivered. This is particularly important for HIV/AIDS affected population. SDC has a vast experience with metal silo technology in POSTCOSECHA programme in South America and can contribute in the region to the policy dialogue and share experiences with SADC, African Development Bank and FAO including SDC national offices in Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

Biocombustibles contra la crisis energética
01.04.2012
- 30.09.2017

Strengthening Local Governance Accountability Project (SLGAP)
01.04.2012
- 31.08.2019
The project empowers communities to claim their developmental rights by capacitating local civil society organisations (CSOs) to hold their local governments accountable. This is achieved by applying various social accountability (SA) tools. A protracted phase of political transition, a lack of structural accountability and transparency, rising corruption at all levels of government, and an absence of elected representatives makes the intervention highly relevant for target communities in SDC project areas.
