Quality Improvement of Social Services, Lubelskie

The programme is focused on the improvement of quality of infrastructure and services provided in social care institutions in the Lubelskie Voivodeship in order to enhance living conditions of residents of these institutions. The programme targets elderly people, mentally and physically disabled as well as youths deprived of appropriate parental assistance and directly contributes to promote social inclusion of disadvantaged groups.

Measures for protecting endangered ecosystems

Switzerland is financing two biodiversity projects in Slovakia for the protection of endangered ecosystems. One project is concerned with monitoring and researching forests, while the second aims to preserve and protect natural areas and habitats in the Slovak Carpathian mountains. The Swiss contribution to these two projects totals around CHF 4.2 million.

Home Care Services

Increasing life expectancy in Bulgaria means that there is now a larger number of older people in the country. To enable these people to remain at home in a familiar environment even at an advanced age, this project has introduced a home nursing service in Vratsa districts. Home nursing by  qualified teams enables patients to maintain a degree of independence and improves the quality of life of chronically ill or disabled elderly people.

Epidemiological Filter

The project will consistently strengthen the capacity of the border guards in Biala Podlaska to ensure the EU border protection. The construction of the Medical Check Centre in Biala Podlaska will mitigate the epidemiological risk coming from the increased number of migrants crossing the eastern border of Poland.
