Quality Improvement of Social Services, Swietokrzyskie

The programme is focused on the improvement of quality of infrastructure and services provided in social care institutions in the Swietokrzyskie Voivodeship in order to enhance the living conditions of the residents of these institutions. The programme targets elderly people, mentally and physically disabled as well as youths deprived of appropriate parental assistance and directly contributes to promote social inclusion of disadvantaged groups.
 

Epidemiological Filter

The project will consistently strengthen the capacity of the border guards in Biala Podlaska to ensure the EU border protection. The construction of the Medical Check Centre in Biala Podlaska will mitigate the epidemiological risk coming from the increased number of migrants crossing the eastern border of Poland.

Prevention on Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Infections

The aim of the programme is to create the basis for a national Hepatits C Prevention programme. For this purpose, the Hepatitis C prevalence rate is measured in the Polish population in general and in the groups of pregnant women and injecting drug users in particular. Transmission routes in medical settings are analysed and medical personnel as well as physicians are sensitized. Through a national information campaign, the awareness of the general public will be increased, and pilot projects for Hepatitis C prevention among drug users will be implemented.
 

Support to Drought and Conflict Affected Population in Southern Somalia

Recurrent droughts are a key factor affecting Food Security and Livelihood in El Barde District, considering that 80% of the population are pastoralists who depend on livestock and derived product. After coping mechanisms have been eroded both local and displaced pastoralists depend on humanitarian assistance. The intervention strives to reduce that dependency by rebuilding and enhancing the resilience of pastoralist livelihood.
