Resilient, Inclusive Markets in Moldova – Phase 2

Moldova’s growth continues being volatile and jobless. More and better jobs are needed for the rural population, disproportionately affected by the effects of extreme climate events and by the war in Ukraine. The project’s second phase will enhance an inclusive, competitive and resilient economic development, by improving regulatory frameworks and business support services which benefit economic activities in rural areas.


Development of WASH facilities and services in child-friendly schools in Abkhazia, Georgia

01.05.2025 - 30.04.2028

Since 2020, Swiss humanitarian assistance, in collaboration with UNICEF, has improved WASH facilities in nearly half of Abkhazian public schools, ensuring safer learning environments. The final phase will enhance sanitary and hygiene conditions in the remaining schools with critically inadequate sanitation, hindering learning and posing health risks for children. Additionally, it will introduce innovative and affordable sewage and fecal sludge treatment systems.


Towards Elimination of Malaria in Tanzania (TEMT)

Despite significant progress, Tanzania is still a major malaria-burdened country. It aspires to further accelerate progress towards malaria elimination through innovative strategies and investments in research, vaccine development, and multi-country collaborations. Switzerland supports capacity building, evidence creation, systems to strengthen vector control, case management, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation, multi-sectoral collaboration and cross-border initiatives upon request by the Government.


Sustaining Health Sector Reform in Ukraine Phase 2

Through a joint collaboration with the World Bank and World Health Organization, Switzerland contributes to strengthening resilience, reforms, and supporting the recovery of Ukraine’s health system in alignment with the Government of Ukraine’s priorities and the needs of the conflict-affected population. Phase 2 builds on a strong foundation and focuses on three pillars: governance and stewardship, health financing, and service delivery.

Through the proposed project, Switzerland contributes to 2 local NGOs in the north west of South Sudan, in line with ongoing localization of aid efforts. The proposed intervention combines both protection and livelihoods interventions to address the urgent needs of refugees and returnees fleeing from the Sudan conflict and vulnerable host communities in Raja, a fairly remote and high need location with little humanitarian presence.


RCA, IRC, Maison des Services (MdS)25-26

L’appui renouvelé de la Suisse à la Maison des Services (MdS) en République centrafricaine (RCA) soutient les efforts de localisation de l’aide. Cette contribution vise à améliorer l’offre de services de la MdS et à redynamiser les interactions entre les Organisations de la société civile (OSC) participantes. La Maison des services (MdS) offre à ce jour de multiples services à plus de 400 OSC centrafricaines.


SUD, SRK, MPCA North Kordofan

The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) project Multipurpose Cash Assistance for IDPs and Host Communities in North Kordofan aims to enable vulnerable people to meet their basic needs with dignity and flexibility. At the same time, it strengthens local humanitarian capacity by supporting the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS). This intervention is particularly relevant considering Sudan's ongoing conflict and displacement crisis, as it promotes people's self-reliance, self-sufficiency, and increases their sense of autonomy.


Schools for Health (Shkollat për Shëndetin)

01.05.2025 - 31.12.2027

Nearly one third of the population in Albania is smoking, overweight or suffers from high blood pressure. Adopting healthy behaviours is crucial to combat non-communicable diseases. In the exit phase, the Ministries of Health and of Education will strengthen coordination mechanisms for health promotion in schools. Schools’ staff and healthcare professionals will implement jointly local action plans. Children, parents and communities will increasingly adopt healthy behaviours.


Repenser les instruments de gouvernance des investissements (single phase)

Les investissements directs à l’étranger sont l’une des sources externes de financement les plus importante pour accélérer le développement durable des pays à faible revenus et réduire les inégalités. Cette intervention soutient les réformes en cours des instruments (traités, lois, contrats) permettant d’assurer une bonne gouvernance des investissements internationaux en vue d’accroitre leur mobilisation. Des recherches seront aussi menées sur la perception et notation des risques politiques.


Provision of basic services in northern parts of South Sudan in response to the influx of civilian population fleeing the Sudan conflict

Switzerland supports ACTED’s operations in northern South Sudan (Renk, Aweil East and Manyo counties) to provide dignified shelter and essential services to civilians fleeing the conflict in Sudan. The intervention also includes targeted support to host communities, aiming to strengthen social cohesion in an increasingly fragile context.


RCA, World Vision International (WVI), Coordination des ONGs Internationales (CCO), 2025-2026

L'appui de la Suisse pour une année supplémentaire au Comité de coordination des ONGs (CCO) en Rébulique centrafricaine vise à renforcer la coordination et l'efficience de la réponse humanitaire. Le mécanisme du CCO assure un partage coordonné d'informations et il représente également une voix consolidée des ONGs internationales dans le dialogue avec les instances gouvernementales et les partenaires bilatéraux et multilatéraux de développement.


SOM, Cash Consortium, Emergency multipurpose cash assistance

The project aims to provide life-saving Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to crisis-affected communities in Somalia. The intervention will prioritize those most left behind including newly displaced and highly food insecure individuals. As a short-term emergency intervention, the project complements SDC’s broader effort to sustainably strengthen the resilience of vulnerable communities across Somalia and contribute to increased stability and prosperity.
