Global Partnership to End Violence against Children, 2017-2018

Launched in July 2016, the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children was created to help contribute to the shared goal of children living free from violence and exploitation. The Partnership brings together governments, civil society, foundations, private sector and UN agencies to accelerate real action for children in their homes, schools, and communities; build on the political will and opportunity presented to them through the Sustainable Development Goals; and strengthen collaboration between and among organizations, and across borders.

Support to Palestine Aid Watch

The Palestinian initiative "Aid Watch Palestine" aims at bringing up the voices of the aid beneficiaries, especially in the Gaza Strip through critical but constructive analysis of assistance. It will support collective discussion about international assistance framework. Support to this initiative is in line with the Swiss Cooperation Strategy for the oPt especially with the outcome related to enhancing the participation of civil society in decisions related to reconstruction and recovery efforts in the Gaza Strip.

Croatian Swiss Research Programme (CSRP)

Through the Croatian Swiss Research Programme, Switzerland contributes to enhancing the Croatian scientific competitiveness. By strengthening capacities in research, the Croatian academic partners shall increasingly be interlinked in the international research community. Further, the joint research activities provide findings that are beneficial for society and politics.

Prabriddhi - Local Economic Development (LED) at District Level

In two urban municipalities and their surrounding territories, the public and private sector and civil society will engage in joint local economic strategizing, planning and implementation. A more vibrant, competitive  and better performing economy will benefit all people living in an area including businesses of all sizes and generate opportunities particularly for poor and marginalised women and men. The model of decentralized economic planning developed and refined locally will be replicated across Bangladesh.

CERAH Core Contributions 2017-2020

CERAH’s mission aims at enhancing the capacity of individual and institutional humanitarian actors to devise and bring relevant, adapted and timely responses to the plight of populations affected by armed conflict, disasters or social exclusion. To that end, it aims at strengthening the competencies of humanitarian professionals through internationally recognized education and training, at improving humanitarian responses through critical research of humanitarian concepts, policies and practices and to stimulate debate on selected humanitarian issues to further critical and innovative thinking. This project aims at furthering systematization and professionalization of humanitarian activities and actors, with the stated goal to make the humanitarian sector more coherent and accountable.

ICVA, Core Contribution 2017-2019

By supporting ICVA, Switzerland contributes to strengthen dialogue and engagement among diverse humanitarian actors. Targeting NGO’s, UN agencies, Member States and intergovernmental organizations, ICVA aims to improve synergies between policy discussions at the global level (especially Geneva), humanitarian hubs - mainly in the ‘global south, with the realities of field operations.

La Fédération Genevoise de Coopération (FGC) est une association faîtière créée en 1966 et regroupe 60 ONG actives dans la coopération au développement ou la sensibilisation. La FGC est au service de ses membres pour lesquels elle cherche des financements publics pour soutenir leurs projets. La FGC est aujourd’hui un réseau fort qui joue un rôle actif de plaidoyer pour un développement durable à l’échelle globale et un acteur incontournable sur la scène de la solidarité internationale genevoise.

Contribution to UNRWA's Programme Budget 2017-2020

UNRWA is one of Switzerland’s key multilateral partners in the Middle East, due to its regional outreach and its important contributions towards stability and peace in the region. UNRWA overall delivers assistance and protection services to 5.3 million registered Palestine refugees. Under its Programme Budget, UNRWA ensures universal access to quality primary health care and to basic education to Palestine refugees. It also provides targeted relief and social services to needy poor refugees.

Par son programme « travail en dignité », Brücke-Le pont s’engage dans la formation professionnelle, l’accès au marché du travail, la création de revenus et pour le respect des droits du travail. Brücke-Le pont renforce les réseaux locaux qui se mobilisent pour mettre en place des réformes juridiques et structurelles. L’organisation promeut l’égalité entre hommes et femmes, l’autodétermination des personnes et le renforcement institutionnel des organisations partenaires.

Allocation of SDC Funding to WFP Operations in 2017

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to WFP operations allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations.
