Clean Air

The last phase of the project “Clean Air” helps to relieve the impacts of the climate change and to improve quality of life of the Bolivian population. By measures in 12 big Bolivian cities, where 88% of the country‘s car pool is located, the annual CO2 emission will be reduced by an estimated 130.000 tons.

Contribution to the Disaster Law Programme of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)

Switzerland, through SDC’s financial contribution to the IFRC’s Disaster Law Programme, effectively contributes to prevent and mitigate the impact of natural disasters by reinforcing States regulation in disaster risk management, thus reducing the numbers of victims affected within such emergencies.

In February 2012, Switzerland signed a partnership agreement to join a network aimed at boosting global emergency preparedness. The network is called United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) and is run by the World Food Programme as a common service accessible to UN organizations, GOs and NGOs. By contributing to the network, Switzerland aims at enhancing its own preparedness and response capacity as well as of the international humanitarian community.
