Dal 1997, la DSC sostiene il settore sanitario in Ucraina con un progetto volto a promuovere la salute di madri e bambini. In collaborazione con l'Istituto tropicale e di salute pubblica svizzero di Basilea, è stato identificato il fabbisogno di assistenza delle donne durante la gravidanza e il parto e l'assistenza sanitaria è stata migliorata di conseguenza.

Despite Vietnam’s high economic growth rate in the last decades with impressive achievements in poverty reduction, the poverty rate gap between urban and rural areas is still high. More than 95% of poor people live in rural areas. In Hoa Binh and Cao Bang, where ethnic minority accounts for more than 60% and 90% respectively, the poverty rates are 16% and 25% in 2009 respectively.

Health Care Waste Management in Kyrgyz Hospitals

The Health Care Waste Management Model is endorsed by the Ministry of Health and since 2006 a priority of the Health Sector reforms under the “Public Health” component. The model is contributing to improve the quality of medical services in hospitals while improving the ecological environment. SDC has a high visibility with funding this most successful model that reduced significantly the post operative infections and establishing a HCWM on international standards saving the environment.

Installation of Automatic License Plate Recognition System in Customs Offices

With the project, license plate recognition systems in Estonian seaports will be installed to improve the work of different state authorities in combating organised crime – especially tax fraud and smuggling – and thus to ensure greater safety in the whole Schengen area.
