TU-Plast invested 5 billion Forint in a high-tech production facility in Debrecen

With an investment amounted to about 5 billion Forint (CHF 17 Mio.) the Hungarian subsidiary of the Swiss Hoffmann Neopac AG built a new high-tech production facility and created 59 new jobs.

With another production line being installed later this year, the output will quadruple to an annual production of more than 300 million tubes. The 6’600 m2 facility offers further capacities for expansion plans in the future. CEO Mark Aegler stressed the new significance of Debrecen for the group because it is located perfectly to operate the emerging markets in Eastern Europe.

The major of Debrecen, László Papp, further explained that Debrecen is currently being transformed into a center of innovation. Only last May an agreement with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was signed to support the wide-scale development of the city. Also the expansion of TU-Plast was supported by the government with subsidies amounting to 300 million Forint (CHF 1 Mio.).

Furthermore Péter Szijjártó, the Hungarian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, was present as well as Xénia Hoffmann, the main shareholder of Hoffmann Neopac AG and Jean-François Paroz, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Hungary.
