FDFA recommendations for travelling abroad
Travel responsibly and take time to plan and organise your trip. The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) recommends that you download the Travel Admin app, register, and enter your trips abroad before leaving for your holiday.
The FDFA Helpline is the single point of contact for enquiries about consular services.

1) K-ETA or Visa or Resident Card
Visa-free travelers (e.g. Swiss nationals) who intend to enter the Republic of Korea are required to obtain a K-ETA entry authorization in advance by providing personal and travel-related information online through the website
For people in possession of Korean visa or Korean resident card, K-ETA is not required.
2) Q-code application
For fast entry process, it is recommended to apply for Q-Code.

Travelers departing from China
Due to an increase in infections in China, South Korea requires travelers from China to follow regulations until the end of February 2023.

2) Negative test result before departure (from 05.01.2023)
PCR test done 48 hours before departure or RAT Antigen test done 24 hours before departure.
The result must be submitted via Q-Code.
3) PCR test after arrival (from 02.01.2023)
- Short-term travelers must take a Covid test at their own expense at the Incheon Airport COVID-19 Testing Center within one day of arrival. They must wait in the designated area until the result is released.
Incheon Airport COVID-19 Testing Center on arrival: reservation required - Long-term residents must take the test within one day of arrival at the local health center of their residence.

Travelers departing from Hong Kong, Macao
In addition to the requirement for travelers from China, travelers from Hong Kong and Macao must also have a negative test result before departure.
