Exhibition to mark the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyz-Swiss development cooperation

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland, the Swiss Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic invites its partners and the larger public to the Multimedia Exhibition “Kyrgyz-Swiss Blue Pass” from 27 to 28 of September in the Hangar multi-media center.

With the motto “Partnership for sustainable and inclusive development in Kyrgyzstan” Switzerland has been supporting Kyrgyzstan since 1994 to ensure: 

  • Access to and efficient use of water for all, now and in the future;

  • Access to quality health services for all;

  • Citizen participation and transparent institutions for improved public services;

  • Strong private sector for inclusive growth and better jobs;

  • Culture for open, diverse and dynamic societies.

The multimedia exhibition “Kyrgyz-Swiss Blue Pass” will be open in the Hangar multi-media center (11/3 Gorky street, Bishkek) from 10:00 until 21:00 with a free entry.

The Exhibition is an audiovisual storytelling about Kyrgyzstan and the people whose practices are connected with the activities of the Swiss development cooperation in the country. This is a narration about people, places; reflection of feelings and perception of nature objects, sounds and meanings.

The anniversary will be officially celebrated in the presence  of the deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Madmarov, Ambassador Ruth Huber, vice director of the Swiss Development Agency and the Ambassador of Switzerland to the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Véronique  Hulmann, on September 26, 2019.

Tomorrow, on 27 November, 2019, a forum "Family Medicine in the Kyrgyz Republic: Experience, Challenges and Ways Forward" will be organized in Bishkek.

The goal of the forum is to discuss current status of the family medicine and to define ways forward to improve quality and efficiency of the Primary Health Care system in Kyrgyzstan.

This event is organized by the project “Medical Education Reforms in Kyrgyzstan” financed by the Swiss Government through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The Swiss development program is committed to enhance capacities and policies for family medicine, to promote healthy life styles and to enhance financial means for health reforms and services.

The Kyrgyz Government is committed to ensure fair, equitable and good quality of health care to its population, which is described in the Health Reforms Program “Healthy person – Prosperous country”.

The forum convenes representatives of the Kyrgyz Government, Parliament, Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mandatory Health Insurance Fund, medical associations, family medicine practitioners from Bishkek and regions, students and residents, representatives of patient communities, recipients of medical services, medical journalists and bloggers.

The participants will discuss the current situation in the Primary Health Care system and define a vision and actions to strengthen by involving policy makers, practicing family doctors, nurses and young generation of doctors.
