COVID-19: Information to Swiss citizens travelling or currently residing in Malaysia

The Malaysian government has announced that the country is entering the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) phase starting from 10 June till 31 August. Please stay updated, cooperate and follow the instructions of individual states and national authorities.
As of 18 March, all foreigners are prohibited to enter Malaysia until 31 August 2020. For all residents and MM2H, some restrictions of movement apply.

Please also note that on 16 March 2020, the Swiss government (Federal Council) called on Swiss travellers to return to Switzerland. Swiss tourists are recommended to contact the airline for information concerning the return journey to Switzerland.

VAT Tax claims
The Consular Section of the Embassy of Switzerland in Kuala Lumpur has been moved to the Regional Consular Centre Bangkok, Thailand. Therefore, the Embassy of Switzerland in Kuala Lumpur is no longer recognised as office abroad to confirm the exportation in tourist traffic for shop sales ("tax-free for tourists").
- The buyer has the fact that the goods are abroad confirmed on the export document by a recognised office abroad, and then sends the document to the supplier
- The buyer sends the unconfirmed export document to the supplier, together with the original or copy of the import assessment issued by a foreign customs authority

- Malaysian customs authority
If the confirmation of exportation is not provided by the Federal Customs Administration at the time of departure, the buyer has the following evidence options:
